Looking forward to seeing some pics of the 225 on here. I'm out of town until tuesday.

I did see it launch out of Houston in 2003. Big is always cool.

Since last night the 225 has gone from Prestwick to Goose Bay, and is now on the way to Minneapolis. I'm thinking they have multiple crews on board, and with the way they seem to be hauling they could get to YYC today.

Stay in the loop and track ADB1248 on Flightaware.com to track its progress.

Just found this one link for pics to it's diversion.

In there the guy states a mechanical problem as the reason.

DAMN IT!

If I'd know, I'd drove out to Mirabel today to try and catch a glimpse of it!

I was following it all day, FlightAware had it landed in MSP at one point, then back to Mirabel. A new departure time from Mirabel is 4:30am EDT.

Antonov watch: Monday Update

The 225 made the flight from Montreal Mirabel to Minneapolis-St.Paul early this morning:

Now we wait for the flightplan to YYC, I think with the early arrival into KMSP we stand a good chance of a daylight arrival here today. Fingers crossed!

We also now know why the 225 is coming to Calgary. It is apparently picking up natural gas plant equipment from Enerflex. Final destination is Nigeria.

New flight plan filed to Moses Lake, WA.

Does this mean it's bypassing Calgary now?

I doubt it, could simply be filling up the tanks closer to us in the states to save some money.

I just hope it is a quick stop and they make it here in the daylight, please please please.

Looking at the airport chart for Grant County International Airport they certainly have two runways more than capable of handling this beast with lots of weight on it:

14L/32R is 13,503 feet
4/22 is 10,000 feet

Dang. Would it likely be up and out of here later tonight? I'm assuming that thing makes too much money to leave on the tarmac overnight very often.

Watched a really good Mighty Planes special last night on the C-5 Galaxy that recently set the world record for a straight flight from Dover to Afghanistan

Very cool video of a C-177 landing in the arctic
