Sutton did great against 2 and 3 defense's but only so so against the 1s. He is also not a very good blocker at all so doesn't make great sense as a backup. I'd like to see him get on the PS, but I dont' think its a big deal he was cut.
|
I'd agree except that they only have 2 healthy RB's. A spot they really need to have more than 3 at IMO....especially at the expense of keeping both Kuhn and Hall at FB who are basically the same player. They have Grant, Wynn and an injured Brandon Jackson who has a bad ankle. Makes little sense to me is all.

I know it's tough being a Raiders fan the past few seasons. I think that is the reason why I kind of stop watching the NFL for the past few seasons. Oakland is a joke. They have a good QB in Russell but they don't have the OLinemen to help him or even the receivers. When they had some good receivers, they don't have a QB who can pass the ball to them.
I think as long as AL Davis is meddling with this team, nothing will improve with this team. I feel sorry for those die-hard Raiders fans who dresses up and watch every game at the stadium. I am an Oakland Raiders fans since Lyle Alzado and Marcus Allen was still playing. I hope they will get better soon so I can start watching the game again.

I wonder if it was in another roid rage fit. Too bad he is still in the league.

Yeah, but I don't think jackson is all that hurt. I've just read it was sore so they held him until the regular season.
They're taking a bit of a risk sure, but I think its to really beef up their special teams. Running back is also probably the 2nd easiest position in the league to fill if you need too.

Amen. I was a fan with Bo Jackson and Charles Woodson being at the core. Now it's getting to be very hard even to just follow them with any type of vigor. Case in point:

But who am I kidding: Jay Cutler or Matt Leinart would have been better than Michael Huff, Larry Fitzgerald, Philip Rivers or Sean Taylor over Robert Gallery.
The last time the Raiders traded their first rounder, it was for Randy Moss. That worked out well. I predict Richard Seymor runs at 70% in his tenure and gets out of dodge at the first opportunity.
Al Davis. Just fataing die already you son of a b.

No fan of Merriman, but it's being reported that he was trying to keep her from driving drunk and has multiple witnesses to back that up.
If that's the case, he's hardly a tool.

I heard that as well. I wonder if these witnesses were "old friends" who are currently living off his dime. I dont think the cops would charge someone with choking unless there was some form of evidence.

They didn't and haven't charged him with anything yet....he was arrested on warrant taken out by Tila Tequila. Up to the DA if charges will be brought up now.

Kory Sheets was cut and then signed to the practice roster. That was a bit of a surprise - he had a good preseason.
Bear Pascoe was cut. He was the only '09 draft pick not to make the team or practice roster.
And Tony Pashos was signed yesterday (presumably to replace Marvel Smith, who couldn't come back from back problems and retired).
So coming out of camp, the Niners have beefed up their running game, done zip with their passing game (apparently Crabtree is living in SF, is being told by "Neon Deion" that he only gets one first contract, and has enough money from all the endorsement deals he signed that he can bide his time).

YOu shoudl never lose a game becuase of special teams and the Pack did more than once last year.
I'm happy Brohm and Meridith made it to the PS. I still feel both have great upsdie, and brohm just needs some confidence and reps.

sportsnet.ca's Jim Lang has his NFC south predictions posted right now. I am not going to link to it because it is useless.
His last line is that the Bucs HC Raheem Morris has never been a coordinator anywhere, NOT EVEN AT THE COLLEGE LEVEL. Quick check says that he was the defensive coordinator at K-State in 2006. Get your facts straight and step your game up.

I wonder if Deion is walking on thin ice? His employer is the NFL Network which is owned by the NFL. I'm sure the owners of the 32 NFL teams are not impressed at all with what Crabtree is doing. To hear that he is getting this advice from Deion must really boil their skin, especially the Niners. Every year another group of NFL players retires looking for a chance in the broadcast booth. He could easily be replaced.

Adam Schefter tweeted that Richard Seymour is scheduled to make $216,764.71 each week this season. Which he doesn't collect if he doesn't play.
Sirius Radio reporting that Seymour wants the Raiders to promise him that they won't franchise him next season.

What choices does Seymour really have? If he sits out the entire season, he cannot become a FA in an uncapped year. He can't tell the Raiders not to franchise him because you know that's exactly what they plan on doing.
Skeletor may be crazy and have lost his edge, but he's not going to trade a 1st rounder for a guy that will only stay a year and not have the ability to force him to stay using the franchise tag. I mean, come on, Moss stayed around for two years.

That is really funny.
Im not sure how I feel about the franchise tag. It was easy to ridicule the move for the raiders when it moved a draft pick for an expiring contract. I myself forgot about the franchise tag and the implication that they really are getting Seymour on a 2 year deal.

Crabtree has had Trent Dilfer throw to him.
According to Dilfer, Crabtree is in great shape. Dilfer said they did not talk contract status.
And here is the mention of Deion for the beat writer:
Quote:
Last week, former NFL cornerback and occasional Crabtree adviser Deion Sanders said that Crabtree had enough money to sit out the season, and if the 49ers didn't increase their offer, Crabtree was prepared to do just that.
