49ers have allowed Safety Mark Roman to shop himself. He wants to be a starter and the 49ers only want him to be a backup. I could see Williams ending up in SF. Singletary stated at his year end Presser that he wanted to upgrade the safety position and bringing if a few safeties would be a start.
I though Williams could hit big, but was poor in coverage and that was where he would do those stupid horse collars, as guys were running by him?
Alex Smith gets back from his honeymoon this weekend and then there should be a decision on his contracts renegotiation.
And all you JT O'Sullivan fans, get your Bengal jerseys now.

They wanted to get his contract renegotiated to smooth out the cap hit, but he went and got married then went on a honeymoon, so negotiations ground to a halt.
Both sides say they want to get a deal done, and 49ers only have Huard and Hill currently under contract so they hope to have it resolved by the time mini-camp happens.
If it doesn't there are rumours of a number of teams interested in taking a flier on him - Detroit, Miami, Tampa, to name a few - if he is released.
It sounds like the surgery to remove the bone fragment in his shoulder worked. Before he left shoulder wasn't at full strength but he was able to throw pain free which was a huge step.

Chris Simms and JJ Arrington confirmed.
Just don't get the RB thing AT ALL. Glad to have a legitimate backup finally.

I know. I'm simply concerned with the exodus of players.

Thank goodness SEA got Houshmanzadeh (to that end, a good #1a along with Branch, then with Branch, Burelson, Engram (if he stays) and Carlson the TE, they have a great set of 1a and a couple #2 recievers...no excuse for Hasselbeck this year..its put up or shutup for him this year, or else) otherwise you never know if they'd dare have gone after Owens.
Springs...I still have his jersey from SEA.

Who is running the ball for SEA this year, and how is the O-line?
You can have the best QB and receivers in teh world, but a bad O-Line and no one has the time to run their route.

Nothing is more valuable than a great O-line on offense. An average QB can look like Joe Montana when he has excellent protection.

Didn't they sign Julius Jones last season?
I would think he would be the number #1 guy in Seattle.

Just a thought on Owens.
Would Pitt/Baltimore maybe take a run at him? Maybe St Louis?
For all this degatives, I am surprised that JJ is putting all his eggs in the Roy Williams Basket.

You would think that the Rams would just hold onto Holt before signing TO. I'm sure when it comes to TO money is the big thing, or maybe a contender. St. Loius wont be a contender. I thought maybe the Vikings but I read on ESPN that the Vikings wouldn't entertain it. Maybe the Vikes make a run at Holt if he does get released from the Rams.

TO burned the Ravens back when the 49ers tried to trade him there and TO came up with his own trade to the Eagles. Then TO claimed Newsome made some racist remarks about him, So Ozzie isn't a huge fan. Finally, John Harbaugh was the Special Teams coach in Philli when all the TO drama played out.
So no, TO isn't a popular figure to the Ravens.
And the 49ers are hinted to take a run at Holt if he is released. Reuinted with Bruce?

Isn't Ozzie Newsome black??? Hahahaha Goddam is TO ever an idiot!! Good riddance...
I remember that whole Ravens thing(didnt know about the Ozzie thing though), and I think Ray Lewis was pretty p***** at Owens too. Also I remember when TO was with Philly and playin the Ravens he immitated Ray's Super Bowl intro dance after a TD. I recall Ray wasn't too happy about that either. I can't see him going to Baltimore.

According to Owens, Newsome told T.O.’s agent at the time, David Joseph, that Newsome “was a black man from Alabama just like T.O.” and that “sometimes a black man’s gotta be slapped.”
Wrote Owens at the time, in an autobiography, “Initially, I was kind of stunned by it. My agent was kind of reluctant to tell me about it at the time. What a lot of people don’t know, and I guess I’ll let it out now, is that was pretty much one of the main reasons I didn’t want to go there.”

Well, Mo Morris signed with DET so its Julius Jones all the way this year.
The O line is still ok, just a bad rush of injuries late last year.
Walter Jones still chugging away, but I do expect some OL help in the draft...maybe not with the #4 pick (I still think they want to trade down, now that they have a WR), but somewhere in the first round if they can swing a trade down. Otherwise, maybe Mora takes a chance on drafting a
QB?
Hasselbeck will have no excuse, for the $ he's making. He has to start making decisions like the 10 year vet he is, and not sulk around and throw up rainbows and prayers as he is apt to do. The guy's not the leader that that offense needs, and now with skills declining, SEA has to think about who's leading the offense down the road...
For this year, I'd love for SEA to get Garcia as a backup..he seems to have a short shelf life wherever he goes, but brings an energy to each team and a fire..something that SEA needs (not just last year, last few years) when things get stale..Wallace is a competent backup at best, but he wants to be a starter, but has watched and "lead" by Hasselbeck, so nothing changes when he comes in, other then mobility and a weaker arm.
The offense has the talent, they just need the right guy to bring them together, and make critical plays (or avoid making disastorus ones) when the game is on the line...something Hasselbeck failed miserbaly last year (having the ball last year 4 games, with a chance to go down and score to tie or win near the end of the game, and ended up with 4 turnovers and 4 losses asa result) doing.

No chance TO ever sees the inside of the Pittsburgh Steelers locker room. That's the most TEAM oriented team in professional sports IMO.
