The 2500 movement is solid and the see through case back on mine loses its charm quickly. It took me an hour to decide between the two similar looking PO watches with the different movements. I ended up with the 8500 largely due to the ceramic grey dial. I'll admit I do get a little envious when I see people with your version though. A very nice watch!
If only I could get my hands on the black Liquid Metal, I'd be a very happy guy.

Wow, gorgeous watch.

Yes, it was my first. I was never much of a watch guy, but thought I might as well buy a nice one I liked if I was going to buy one. It still feels like it's brand new and it's been four years. I got a decent deal on it to.

I should fix the date......

Mechanical movements are the way to go... right up until you hit the golf course. Then rock a quartz.

Michael Kors seems to be a stylish and popular choice for women's watches.

I wear a calculator watch. I'm not kidding either. Bitches dig it:

Yes, a men's watch.
Seriously. They can look sexy as hell on women, plus if your buying something expensive, they hold their value much better. What's your price range? A lot of men's watches come in smaller sizes and have a timeless quality about them.
Michael Kors is extremely popular right now, but has been for a while now....which tells me that soon, it will be over. Buying into a trend is never smart for the long term. Buy a watch that you can see yourself wearing now and in 30 years.

I own a 12 year old Seiko and a 7 year old Guess, and some $10 waterproof cheapie that I bought in San Juan PR because I didn't want to get my other two wet while swimming in the Caribbean.
The Seiko and the Guess were both gifts. If someone hadn't bought them for me I'd probably own a Timex or the like. A $25 watch works just as well for me as a $250 watch.

I have a 31mm Rolex Datejust, which used to be a men's size, but is considered "midsize" now. I love it, it's not so huge that it gets in the way, but it's not puny like many women's watches. I could actually go up another size and it'd still be okay on my wrist.

A Datejust on a woman is saxy. They can even pull off the two-tone silver/gold look....whereas on a man you end up looking like some greasy cheese-ball.

Where do you guys buy your watches in Calgary? Or do you buy them online? I think I'm going to pick up an Oris but I don't even know where to look.

I know Tanys Jewellery and Jewel's by Maxine's carry Oris, prices are pretty high compared to online dealers though. I picked up a Oris TT1 Diver GMT from watchuseek Oris's forum, heck of a deal on a beautiful watch. Getting an Oris serviced in Canada is a pain though.

There is a store in the mall downtown near Thomas Jeffrey that sells Oris watches. I don't remember the store name unfortunately. Bonus points for them as they also sell Hirsch straps.

www.AuthenticWatches.com is a good one too. Keep in mind that these are authentic pieces BUT because they weren't sold by an authorized dealer, the warranties expressed are through the dealer, not the manufacturer.

Make sure you do your DD on those Grey area websites. While the watches may be authenticate, some of them are B-stock.
There are some watch forums that discuss these sites. Dealing with warranty may be an issue for some of those websites.

Yeah, I'd research on the http://watchuseek.com forums before you buy anything. The pricier the watch, the less I'd be inclined to go grey market personally.
If you're ok with buying a used watch, http://www.watchrecon.com/ is a great aggregator.
