This roster was a bottom 5 roster coming into the season. My only hope as a Flames fan is that Conroy isn't blinded by this insanely lucky season (by many measures) and tries to add in the offseason/continues to try and retool versus what he should really do, which is continue the solid rebuild with the amazing amateur scouting staff he is rather than trying to sign guys like Rasmus to ridiculous, very likely bad-long-term-contracts (i.e. Lindholm, Zadorov, Hanifin, arguably Sharangovich, etc.).

He's seen the results of his trades and trusting him amateur staff vs his results of trying to re-sign pros.

The amateur staff is clearly the leading part of the organization, and that's the way it should continue imo

I think the Lindholm and Hanifin offers were to see if they could re-tool on the fly and still be competitive. After those didn't happen it set the course for Conroy. The team had an amazing '24 draft, and at the deadline he could have easily used some cap space for a band-aid, a vet....but didn't. Instead he brought in Frost and Farabee who will be around for a while. I think the path has been chosen, and thankfully it will be trading for 20-something's and bringing along the younger guys and hopefully continuing to draft really well. I'm excited for the future.

I can complain about stuff but overall it's been a great team to watch this year and i agree with may, a very likable team.

Some really great stories too, of course we all know about Wolf but things like Huberdeau's turnaround and Kadri still getting it done, Klapka towards the end and lots more besides. All that and we'll get to see Zane next year which is going to be fun.
