Pretty dominant day for Verstappen. The VSC and Safety Car luck going completely in his favor helped him, but even without that he still looked to be in control. Even Yuki moving into the points might indicate that RB had their car setup for this race as good as they have all year.

McLaren not the fastest car on the track today, for a change. And yeah, breaks fell Max's way but there was little doubt at any point that he wasn't winning this, regardless which way the breaks fell.
Safety Car made a moderately exciting race even more interesting. It seemed like there was already quite a difference in qualifying versus race pace and that was gonna create some on track action. But the virtual safety car and then full safety car sure seemed to throw in some extra chaos.
I had absolutely no problem with LeClerc giving back the spot to Albon. I know the rules explicitly state the amount that the passing car has to be ahead but that should be a common sense call. There were several other passes at that corner and all the other drivers managed to leave each other enough space.
Ferrari and Aston Martin completely reversed fortunes from qualifying to the race. Nice to see Hamilton with a smile on his face post race. Yuki with a nice recovery. First time all season George finished outside the top five. He’s been very consistent. Bad luck for Haas. Hülkenberg made a pass on someone and it occurred to me that they are far away the most irrelevant car in the grid. It felt like the first time I’ve seen them do anything of consequence on the broadcast all year.
Williams is solidly the fifth best team. Way behind forth but a comfortable lead on sixth.
Another race I would have loved to see play it without or with fewer SCs. The race we got was still probably better, but it would have been interesting to see how things played out for the early pitters.
Max is just pretty damn brilliant. He has 124/131 points for RBR this year - 95%.
1994 was completely absurd, but Schumacher only had 92/103 points for Benetton (89%) - Jos actually managed two 3rds and a 5th. And Schumi's teammates also had a 7th 8th and 9th that year, which earned 0 points under that system...Yuki's 9th 10th 10th in the grands prix this year would have been 0 points back then (and he has a 6th in a sprint).
Not sure how much further back you have to go to find anything else even close to this

LeClerc was right, he should have gone on to a new set of softs. By the time the safety car pulled in they would have had the life to make it, and a chance to grab some positions.
