Well so much for a Back to the Future, 30 years World Series rematch of a Blue Jays vs Braves/Phillies.

A rematch of the past 2 years WS is still possible with the Astros vs. Braves/Phillies.

Other WS rematches are the Twins vs. Braves/Dodgers (1991/1965) and Orioles vs. Phillies/Dodgers (1983/1966).

Doable for the all star break.

Nearly the same scenario can play out between rounds if you use your ace to start the series, you sweep in 4 and the other goes 7.

This already pretty much happens. Most pitchers on the teams with a bye have a 7+ day break, several will have 10 or so days between starts.

But extending the playoffs is not something I support. I’d be in favor of limiting playoff teams to 4 per league and let each series be best of 7.
