Eh, maybe in the second half of a game out in a blowout. Within 1 goal for the majority of the first period, I’d say that’s still time to keep pushing.

Oilers got a lot of momentum off the bull#### embellishment call sequence which led to 4 on 4 and then an Oiler powerplay. It's amazing how officiating can change the momentum like that.

Fgs nhl has decided they want the Oilers to stay in the playoffs. Interesting game management all the non calls on the oilers... and flames getting called. Oh well guys you need to push through!!

Terrible play from the Flames after their start, no help from refs but they need to be a lot better, Markstrom included

Refs took this one over. Up by one with spending 6 mins down man and McDavid playing 8.5 mins ain't bad.

First 10 minutes it was really men against Boys. Then the Flames got into trouble and lost steam and didn't get it back.

I expect a better second period. Still looking for that last penalty.

That is the softest call you will ever see. Oilers on pace for 9pp's. Other games in this round are getting 1 or 2.

What I wouldn't give to speak with a ref off the record to find out who actually pushes for this crap.

Marky had 1 goal against on 15 shots, some big saves and got a little lucky. He tends to get better as the game rolls along too, totally not worried about him, not nearly as much as when we had Mike Smith.

When the Flames get a penalty for breathing, it’s hard to stay engaged.

Sutter will wake them up.

Need to get back to peppering Smith. Hard to do I guess when the refs are gifting PPs to the Oilers.

I figured the game would be called better tonight without Furlatt. I was wrong.

Not really. He is super shaky and his positioning is worrisome.

The Flames really seem to struggle when it becomes a special teams fest.

For better or worse that seems to be a weakness. They should be able to manage the game a bit better.

Phew, that was close at the end there. Good start to the period, but the penalties ruined the flow of the game and the Flames stopped skating after they got back to 5 on 5.

Sutter needs to work his between period magic and get these guys rolling again. Coach ain't gonna be happy with the 2nd half of that period.
