Well that stuff simply isnt true. A couple times there were spots where 30 years ago Axl would have hit really high notes but last night didnt even try. That was just fine because the rest of his game is on top form. The energy and crowd engagement was top notch. The guys played for 3 full hours and never missed a beat.
I was this show, too, and thought Axl sounded great. Axl looks like he's lost some weight, and I think that's helping with his voice. I saw them about 5 years ago and he was really struggling because he'd get gassed from moving around on stage so much while carrying all that extra weight.

Maybe it was because I did't go in with a lot of expectations, but man....4 days later I am still blown away at how good they were.

Again....Axl still has it (no question he has lost weight and IMO is in the best shape since he was in early 30's) and Slash was truly playing guitar god.

Amazing show.

Went to a Boy Golden show the other night. Typically not my genre but they were great live. Very talented musicians.

Funny, friends went to the Edmonton show and said Axl sounded terrible. The dry air maybe?

Tool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to the two randos that invited me to sit in the 3rd row floor centre. Second time I’ve sat row 3 for tool. Amazing show. Pneuma is unreal live. And culling voices is a masterpiece.

Spoiler!

Nah. I'm a pretty big GNR fan and Axl hasn't had it for a very long time. Like, 20 years now.

Maybe Transplant caught him on a good day but 95% of the time he sounds awful.

I went. It was a really good show

I get how they may have said that as initial impressions stick with you

Early in the set, it was clear he definitely hadn’t spent 2 hours warming up like Kiprusoff. Elected not to chase some high notes he used to.

To make it worse, they had some kind of filter on the vox where it was cutting volume high, but in lower registers was too loud. A bit of a mess. Also guitar levels were off early

They fixed those up during the show, and his vocals improved after he warmed up, certainly by the hour mark. Sound was better the last 2 hours

Slash was an absolute beast. A few nice little nods to guitar greats over the course of the night. The other guitarist had chops too.

After the encore, as people were filing out, Slash came out and did a handstand. His top hat stayed on.

No regrets. They are legends and ####ing rocked

Tool was insanely good last night in Edmonton. Just an amazing show. If you’re in the fence and can still buy tickets for tomorrow in Calgary, just do it. Phenomenal.

Is the Calgary show all ages? I was going to take my 16 year old and introduce him to GOOD music that isn't weird rap/trap.

Yeah, Tool hasn't been a bar band since maybe 1993.

Looks like Edmonton got stinkfist so hopefully that means we get aenima as the closer. And then maybe swamp song instead of intolerance.

definitely all ages. Tool shows are super chill nowadays and have been for a while actually. Fully seated, no moshing, no phones allowed (until last song if Maynard is in a good mood). Not even much weed smoking if Kelowna was any indication.

Just a damn good show with amazing talent and some cool lasers and ####.

Yeah he said “we’ll even let you take your stupid effing phones out for the last song”. He was more interactive with the crowd than I’ve seen him before.

Another excellent performance. So happy we got the alternate closer to Kelowna. They just nail every song. Even something like Rosetta stoned, which is far from my favourite tool song, becomes legendary live.

Such a different concert experience sitting further back in the floor. I was able to take in so much more of the light show.

Yeah me and my kid were row 5 centre. Really cool to be that close, but I feel like I missed out on the visuals if I was a little further back.

Pneuma was probably my favourite. I was hoping for vicarious, 46&2 or Schism but whatever. Still one of the greatest live shows you’re ever going to see.

Holy crap the confetti makes an image.

Spoiler!

We also got arguably the best poster so far this tour. I just didn’t want to spend 3 hours in line to buy one. #### that line was huge. (If anyone has one they want to sell, pm me lol)

Spoiler!
