This emerging "angle" that Beach speaking out is ending the careers of guys who don't deserve it because of their accolades within the game prior to this breaking is downright pathetic and thoughtless.
Beach speaking up is not responsible for their fate. He's merely uncovering their responsibility for things they should've answered for a long time ago.

Looking back at the articles by Rick Westhead. There is one former marketing official that claimed he was warned by training staff to stay away from Aldrich because he abused two players and would try to befriend interns and bring them back to his apartment.

People should take the time to read the report published 2 days ago. At least as much of it as they have time.
There is a lot of evidence and literally written statements in that report that very clearly show Beach wasn’t alone in this at that time with the Blackhawks.
That’s part of why Quenneville and crew are such gutless useless pieces of ####. So many lives were impacted, and then he recommended this guy to others. After knowing about it. It’s insane. It’s as close to complicit as you can get.

I've read the report which states that there is no evidence of Quenneville or anyone at the Blackhawks providing any sort of reference for him post departure?
With the exception of Notre Dame that declined to share info with the investigation.
Where are the Quenneville references stories coming from?

Gross ..Just realized cp does highly moderate and make comment disappear out of thin air.
Not a lick of my previous comment in post history or any where. Ever thought I'd see the day....
Also noticed this page shrunk by a page and a half....
Screen spotted this page to see if this even stays.
Cp doesn't moderate and take out posts.... I beg too differ.

It was a glowing job evaluation, not technically a reference, just something he could use as a report from his last employer. It was written AFTER he was turfed.

To get away from the bad of the story for a second, I want to talk about a shred of the "good". I'm not sure if this belongs here or not but it feels like it does.
My roommate came home yesterday with concern for her friend who had invited a man who robbed and assaulted her, while they were together, back into her home and her life. This man has already been to prison for assaulting other women. Their friend had a no contact order in place for this man. She told her one friend (my roommate) about seeing him again, but was hiding it from everyone else. Then she apparently went phone silent and skipped work. They checked on her and she was fine but my roommate knew the man was in her home at the time.
My roommate and her friend were debating what they should be doing, and I was pressing them to call the police. They were understandably concerned about the reaction of their friend (ie will they hate them?). I don't know these people very well beyond my roommate, so it's easy for me to not be concerned with that, but my mind kept cycling with the news of this story and this idea of "you just have to do the right thing". I told them about this story and why it's important that we have to say something, even if it sucks, and even if it seems like they don't want it, victims of abuse need help. They did call the police who took it very seriously and sent someone to the apartment. Not sure how it has washed out, but I think it was the right thing.
Not knowing these people very well, I don't know that I would have been as insistent about it without the release of this story. So thank you Kyle Beach. Your bravery leaked into the bravery of three other people and possibly stopped something awful.

Aldrich doesn't deserve his name on the cup. But on the other hand, doing this is an attempt to remove the tarnish from the 2010 Hawks, which maybe shouldn't happen. It's a retcon.

It’ll forever be on there with X’s over his name. They’re stained forever.

They're stained forever but I'd bet they don't just put an X through it. It's not hard to make it completely disappear.

It’s what they requested
Quote:
"I am humbly requesting that the Hockey Hall of Fame consider 'X-ing' out his name on the Stanley Cup. While nothing can undo What he did, leaving his name on the most prestigious trophy in sports seems profoundly wrong."
Wirtz pointed to the name of Basil Pocklington being covered by Xs on the Edmonton Oilers' 1983-84 plaque as precedent for the move, and requested Aldrich’s name be treated in the same manner.

I seem to recall one of Edmonton's cups has a name covered in x's as well. It wasn't for anything remotely as bad as what Chicago did, but it still nice to see.

well I don't think there's anything Chevy can do. It'll be the same outcome as with Quenneville, and that's the right call.

But this is down the list of actions to take here. Not surprised the owner would want to draw some attention to this symbolic act which focuses the attention on the perpetrator and not the coverup.

Ya, I knew he would weasel his way out of this. He was at the meeting, he knew, and he didn't say boo. If the Jets have any sort of integrity as an organization they will show him the door. Big fail by the league.
