In most cases, I would agree that it shouldnt be in people's places to tell other people what they should be eating, however, Pineapple on pizza is different.
According to this poll, your friends and family may think very differently of you when you do the dastardly deed of ordering pineapple as a topping. Some would outright call Pineapple on Pizza "Blasphemy".

You can post all the silly little polls with limited voting numbers you want but it doesn't change the fact that pineapple can, has and forever will be a topping you can put on pizza. But like every other topping it's your choice whether you want to.
There are far dumber toppings than pineapple on pizza I have no idea why we care about this so much.
What about non traditional sauce? How is that not more of a controversy? Ranch sauce is not a ####ing pizza. Or cauliflower crust? Clearly you’ve not been to any of the dozens of modern hipster pizza places or you’d be institutionalize right now. It’s like pineapple pizza x1000.
Oh but there’s little pieces of fruit on my pizza. Pfft. You lost this fight decades ago man. People who whine about pineapple have completely lost sight of what really matters in life.

BBQ sauce based pizzas are a way better idea on paper than how they actually taste. Terrible stuff.

All this talk about a rigged event, or people voting for the Hawaiian for the wrong reasons and such just ignores the obvious. Hawaiian pizza is delicious. Pineapple on pizza is so delicious, and that’s why these pizzas advanced to the upper echelons.
I do think the most popular pizza would be pepperoni. I worked at a pizza place for a few years and we tried every concoction, basically. Purely my opinion, but I think the simplest pizzas are the best. The pizzas with a lot of toppings are just too much, and while they’re good, a pizza with 2-3 toppings is great.
I slice my pineapple thin(loonie thickness?). The big chunks have to much moisture, unless you are going for that big juicy bite, but I prefer a bit less.
