Fun game tonight happy to see Rieder and Lucic score. Rittich looked good as he has all preseason. Glad to see Tkachuk back out on the ice. My prediction for the opening night lineup.

I didn't get to see most of the game, but the MacDonald giveaway didn't look as egregious as I expected based on the comments. It looked to me that Tkachuk put him in a bad spot. He tried to slap the puck out of the zone quickly but Tkachuk was literally at the blueline and pushed it back to McDonald who was closely covered.

Does Kyllington have anything left to prove in the A? I realize he's not perfect but he played a half season last year and did well for the most part. To grow, he needs to stay up and play.

That's the key part though. He wont play much as a 7th guy. Do the coaching staff see him as a 6th? Im not sure.
If not, then it makes no sense to keep him in Calgary. He needs to play.
I see Kevin Connauton is on waivers today, he may be of interest to BT if they are indeed going to send Kylington down.

I think the management sees Valimaki as a better D and a higher ceiling. That doesn't make Kylington dispensible, but I won't be shocked if he's part of a trade package at some point.

Is exactly how our season should start on defence. Kylington was better than MacDonald and earned the roster spot.
I’d still offer MacDonald a deal, but it would be in the same vein as Rinaldo’s, with the (likely) understanding that you’ll be starting in Stockton. It’s also entirely possible that perhaps MacDonald has earned a contract elsewhere as well, but he wasn’t better than Kylington.

And Stone was better than Kylington.
So if we are going by that metric, it means a 7th spot for OK which means he wont be playing much.
Of course he also plays the LH side, so that may come into play with who stays and who doesnt.
