Nice to see Iginla looking sharp though last night.
My point was to show how LA is hanging on to the very last thread of the rope they are on, and that thread is frayed as hell. If you're fighting for your playoff life and you are only scoring on the PP (6 of 8 goals since the trade deadline!) you aren't going to last long in the race. Those hoping for some miracle run by an Iginla led Kings are likely in for a big disappointment.

I hope LA doesnt make it. I have no feelings towards Iginla since we traded him away. That being said I would like to see him sign a 1 day contract so he can retire a flame. Go flames Go!

That's my point, too.

It wasnt' even that, since they had a shootout win (not OT loss).
He basically created a 0-1-1-1-0-0 system

I hope you're right.

Securely in a playoff spot in the second to last game of the year, with the Oilers teetering on a Falcons/GS Warriors/PSG collapse of even grander proportions, the Flames dress Wideman as a C, give Fleury a call to come out the play wing, and sign McLennan to play net against the surging Kings and let *insert your least favourite CP poster* coach.

The largest margin of defeat in Flames history also boots the Oilers from the playoffs. A fantastic evening.

No Flames season is ever a true failure if they finish ahead of the Oilers.

Nope. But still holds true. Anyone not 38-40 or older, and not having lived in the city in the 80's, really can't understand the absolute disgust Flames and their fans had/have for the Oilers and their fans for that decade-long stretch after the Flames arrived here.

Far exceeds any blip of a rivalry that the Canucks and their supporters that have riled up certain sections of Flames fans at times over the past decade and a half.

Hey, almost 30 here, I get it. I hate that it has taken me 30 years to almost maybe see a playoff series against our biggest rivals. I look forward to it.

But we lived through the Oilers suck and Van is our rivals and we hate them.

I would absolutely love to see Edmonton in the playoffs and to sweep them. However, this isn't the year I want to see that. I still want to see them miss the playoffs entirely this year.

The way that entire fanbase has been arrogant and condescending this season, the way they're acting like they've won something already, Mark Spector's crap about how they are where we should be (as if we're the ones who have been wandering the desert for the last decade)... no, not this year. I want to see them go full Oiler this year and miss the playoffs.

Next year we can meet them in the playoffs and sweep them in four games.
