His line is doing him no favors, 52 and 67 are beyond terrible.

Universities and coaches are making millions while football players are putting their bodies on the line for a tiny chance at a pro career. Just pay them a living wage or at the very least allow them to receive money from sponsorships.
Almost all college football programs lose money.

and almost all college football players have careers in something other than football.

almost all Americans have a career in something other than football, not sure I see the correlation.

Still find it hard to believe that Dalvin Cook didn't even get an invite to New York for the Heisman ceremony. The guy is pure electricity. Your Orange Bowl MVP, second all-time ACC leading rusher after tonight as well.

Go Noles.

Cook is such an outstanding player. It was nice to actually watch him play in a "meaningless" bowl game given the fact that he is slated to go in the first round of the NFL draft.

Who's fault is that? No one forces these kids to take cupcake majors and courses. They all get their education paid for so why not use this golden opportunity that the majority of other University students don't get and get a degree that will be useful in your life?

You can't play football forever. The average NFL career is 3.3 years and that's if you're lucky enough to make it.

So play another sport. They all know Football is a physically demanding sport and yes, if they want to play in the NFL, they have to actually go to College for free and play in the NCAA. These poor student athletes.

They get a free education which is worth well over 6 figures over the course of 4 years. They get top coaching, access to physiotherapists, massage therapists, all their meals and athletic apparel are paid for, most play on national TV every week, get to travel by a chartered plane and play in NFL stadiums, Australia, Ireland, go to bowl games in Hawaii and the Bahamas.

Also, have you seen some of these athletic facilities? They're nicer than NFL facilities. It's crazy what these players have access to.

Again it's their choice. Play another sport then. These kids are getting a free education to fall back on while still holding out hope that they can make the NFL. Whether or not they want to take advantage of it is up to them.

I agree and have always been a big proponent of this. If you can make money off your namesake, go for it. Sign some autographs, show up at an event and get paid. If someone will pay you, all the power to you.

Players are pressured into cupcake degrees by coaches and time constraints. Good luck completing your engineering or nursing degree while meeting football commitments. If the NCAA actually cared about educating athletes maybe cut down on the coaches and massage therapists and hire some tutors. At least we can agree on letting them earn some cash on the side though.

Go Huskies!

That pick-six could be really demoralizing since Alabama gets it to start the second half. Put another TD up there and it becomes very difficult.

That pick 6 is the killer. The Huskies were right where they needed to be going into half and that play blew it all up. They were in position to just run out the clock too which makes it that much worse.

The Huskies need to take their shots downfield. I have a feeling that all these screens were trying to open up the deep ball in the second half but being down 10+ points makes those deep shots predictable now.

The yards are even. It's really just that bad needless pick six that's the difference.

Absolutely. I just hope for him personally that he does not battle the injury bug in the NFL. There's a small part of me that is concerned with his size at the next level, because he is not a huge guy in stature and if he gets dinged good... he does tend to cough up the football and/or may get hurt.

Last year he consistently fought a nagging hamstring injury and it was a toss-up if he would finish runs in one piece after he pushed it into overdrive. This year he was relatively healthy all season long, at least compared to last year, and I think truly was able to show people what he can do when he hits those holes and turns on the burners.

This is closer that I thought it would be, the Huskies D is playing amazing. If Washington doesn't throw the pick 6 and recovers that fumble the game could be tied.

Washington's defense did all it could, but Scarborough was bound to break a run like that eventually.

Arguably the top TE in the draft, Jake Butt, blew out his ACL during Michigan's loss last night. Damn that sucks.

Chip Kelly is apparently going to be fired by the 49ers. Gotta think an Oregon reunion is inevitable.

The B1G sure look to be the big losers of bowl season. All that crap a few weeks ago about them being the dominant football conference. If PSU loses the Rose Bowl tomorrow, it's hard to make a case they are in the top 3.

Meanwhile, the ACC is making a pretty strong argument that they are the best conference this year.
