So lets get this straight.

They'd want him to be their #1.
He's the return for one of their golden kids.

Can you say pressure?

I think Larsson would be amazing on the Flames, as our 4th defensemen to compliment Hamilton.

I bet the Oilers could have got a pick thrown in if they pushed but didn't due to the optics of losing the trade

Las Vegas should be happy now, they might get a real NHL player out Edmonton now. Davidson or Sekera would be exposed now would they not?

#Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli has now traded the Top 2 picks from the 2010 NHL Draft (Hall & Seguin).

Don't forget the major role Dim Jim played in the jettisoning of Seguin.

Davidson will almost undoubtedly be exposed. Klefbom, Larsson, and Nurse are their golden boys, and all 3 require protection afaik (Nurse might not), and Sekera was given an NMC for some dumbass reason so he's a lock as well.

They're not gonna do 441 so there will be some "future top pairing" defenseman exposed by the grease

That him and his partner were the only ones who knew how to play defense.

I laughed when heard Hall was traded for only Larsson.
Salary clearing of 2m to bring in a July1 6m replacement I bet. Larsson is good but not that good in a 1 for 1 for Hall. If it is judged by who got the better player, NJ got the advantage in this trade.
Oilers filled a need on D with Larsson.

When you ignore a gaping hole for as long as the Oil have, other teams will take advantage.

They may have sold low on Hall, but Larsson is a good player and their team is likely better today than yesterday.

I don't like it.

At the end of the day with this trade, their defense isn't even close to ours, but the gap in top 6 closed significantly.

It all comes down to if Edmonton gets Lucic and Demers.

Maybe New Jersey will trade for Wideman to fill that void.

I don't like it.
how are they going to replace Hall's 30 goals and nearly ppg offence?

Also, ppl seem to be forgetting here that Larsson played in front of Cory Schneider for the past couple years. Schneider has been one of the best goalies in the league over the past couple years and has kept NJ's GA respectable.

Now Larsson comes into a terrible Oilers team defensively with Cam Talbot in net. What do you think is going to happen? Let me tell you...Cam Talbot is no Cory Schneider.

These are Scheider's numbers on a terrible NJ team last 2 years:

2014-15 - 26 W 2.26 GAA .925 SV%
2015-16 - 27 W 2.15 GAA .924 SV%

I think a lot of Larsson's defensive stats are pumped up by Cory Schneider being a god in net.

Lol....cant wait.

Davidson has played a grand total of 62 games going in the NHL, is 25 going into this season and only looked half decent because of the company he was standing next to.

One of your Oiler friends must have snuck you some koolaid if you're thinking he's anything more then a dime a dozen bottom pairing defensemen at this point.
