Anyone have any suggestions for slicing with the driver? I've addressed my swing path and as far as I can tell it's good (I'm not swinging around with my driver, spinning the ball). [/QUOTE]
If you slice, most likely your come over the top which is the result of starting your downswing with your right upper body instead of your lower body? How far do you hit with your driver?

I've been watching a lot of videos. One main thing was supposedly finishing your swing through to the left (as a right handed golfer) will spin the ball, whereas when I did the drills I naturally finish in a decent position (again, as far as I can tell).
Interestingly my driver is only about 240 - 260. I have buddies who hit it 280 - 310 and all my other clubs I'm dead even with them. Definitely a mechanics thing.

Are you sure you have a slice and not just a fade? It is very hard to hit the ball 240-260 yards with a slice.

Sounds like clubhead speed is probably good - hitting 260 with like fourty yards of slice is basically where I was.
Try tilting, closing your stance.
For a drill, put a tee or loony about four inches in front of your ball and try to bring your club through straight on target line after contact. Wouldn't worry too much about follow-throughs, as they vary widely. Studies seem to show people do much better thinking about their clubhead path as opposed to body position.

Been using an R11 driver now for about 4 years. Overall I really like it, but I'm not a fan of how high I hit the ball. Has anyone played around with the various adjustments you can make (loft, face, weights). Until now I left everything as is.
I reduced the loft last night to hopefully make the ball launch at a lower angle. Its a 10.5 degree with a stiff shaft. Just curious what others have done.

I can't believe you guys are only hitting it 260... Everyone on the internets pounds it 330y with a nice draw.

Shot 98 at Hamptons yesterday. Better than the 103 I shot last week there. But still awful.

Hamptons is a tough track. Only played there once, but think I shot around the same as you.

The old power slice. If I could only tack that power on in a straight line..

Thanks for more suggestions. Better hit the range again!

SutterDynasty, try moving the ball back in your stance, more to the middle vs. off your front heel.

I'm not the one that usually raves about clubs but the G30 is one wicked driver. By my own estimation, slight low or high on the face mi####s will still go 90% of the centre hit distance. And centre hits feel sublime. Hot damn.

Just curious- do you have a pull slice or push slice? Although a slice is always about having an open face at impact relative to your path, identifying what type of slice you have is very important to solving the problem.

Yikes, Silverwing is quite likely the worst golf course in Calgary. What an abomination. Say what you will about the other "discount" courses in the city, but at least they seem to take some pride in their conditions. Silverwing is basically what shawnee slopes was the last couple years it was around.

You mean those salty patches of white dirt down the fairways aren't a desirable hazard?
Played there for the first time a month or so ago. It was ####. I will never return there again.

It was suitable for a drunken round for a bachelor party a couple of years back. That's probably the extent of the courses value from my viewpoint.

Yeah I played Silverwing last year, luckily for free, and what a waste of time that was. I couldn't imagine how I would have felt had I paid to play there. Half the course is ground under repair or white hard dirt as rohara said, bunkers filled with water, fairways with random patches of grass that are ankle to shin height. A true embarrassment to golf and golf in Calgary.
The conditions of Silverwing are why I'm somewhat skeptical of Mickelson National, as it's owned by the same Barry Ehlert guy (Windmill Golf) who runs the Silverwing scam and Springbank.

I'm also pretty sure Boulder Creek is run by the same people, and that's another piece of crap though since it's in Langdon it doesn't qualify for worst course in Calgary.
