If the stopping motion of his foot was fluid you'd be right. But the foot changed pace into the puck to hit it.

I don't think there was a kicking motion. He knew what he was doing and directed it in, but there wasn't much of a kick.

I 100% disagree. If you watch, right at the very end, he makes a little extra push with his skate. He had already slowed down enough that he didn't need to do it to stop. More a nudge than a kick but still.

That is a textbook Kick in. I have no idea how you don't call that off. But honestly, what the hell happened to the flames? Yeah. There was a lot of talk prior to the season that they were going to loosen the standard for what's acceptable. It was definitely directed in by his foot, but there wasn't really a "kick".
