So I'm not understanding Cruicible. I get that it's multiplayer, but I don't get that I am just a level 7 and get my ass kicked all the time by guys that are level 20 and up. One shot kills? Yup. Kills from nowhere? Yup. Hammering bullets into them, then get killed? Yup.
To me, who doesn't have that many friends online and who can only play for a week out of the month, there doesnt seem like too much appeal. At least in other shooter games you have a chance because the regulars aren't so over powering.
Am I missing something?

The regulars aren't overpowering. You just aren't particularly good at the game yet.
I've seen this complaint a lot from people and it doesn't make much sense to me. "I'm playing crucible for the first time and I'm getting killed all the time by people who have been playing it a lot!". The level difference doesn't apply in crucible. Everyone is even, they're just better at the game. You just need to play and discover which weapons/abilities work best for you, learn the best spots on the maps, and learn the best ways to get around. It's like any other multiplayer FPS -- you will get rocked until you get good at the game.

Higher level players still have a huge advantage. They have more class skills unlocked, which increases their toughness dramatically. They also have leveled up legendary guns, which while the damage is evened out all the unlocked bonuses still count

Can agree. Was being destroyed regularly in the Beta with a good game being 0.6 K/D. Now, not so much. Just have to learn to make use of all your options like grenades and the like.
Had a 6 man fireteam with friends who were all mic-ed except for maybe one guy. Would consistently win Control with a 10K+ point lead, except for in Bastion. Much tougher map to be coordinated and there were some good opponents.
Also, having the Suros Regime on sale was a bad idea. Such a dirty weapon.

I'm having a hard time with this game.
On 1 side it has amazing game play and graphics and on the other side the story line and multi player seems annoying and repetitive. Every firefight that I have been in people just go AFk or try to run eachother over with the hover bike... or everybody is different levels (why would they not level match players)
I must have set myself up for failure as I was expecting it to be more open world and story-based with quest hubs in beautifully landscapes on earth, the moon, venus and mars... not a boring quest hub in a tiny town.
Worst case scenario I trade it in and get Borderlands (which looks like it will be 1000x more fun to play than Destiny)

Just beat The Raid! One cannot describe how you feel after you finally beat that mofo. This is a FANTASTIC videogame.

So I'm lvl 27 now, is that enough to run the raid without being a liability?

Bungie recommends 26. I'd suggest 27 as the minimum. We had two 27s when we won.

So knew of all the Crucible modes, Salvage would be where I'm finding the most success? Just been wrecking in that mode, first time I've been top player of the match and did it multiple times.
The Vanguard stuff has become so boring, spending all my time in Crucible now.

Those exotic weapon bounties are brutal. The one I've got requires you to do 25 strikes, run around the town then buying stuff off Zur and then getting 10,000 points in crucible. It better be an awesome gun!

Just after I finished the Thorn one (thanks to help from Stryker and Grim) I get the same bounty you're on. With how long the first one took I wasn't exactly thrilled to see it pop up

Apparently that one is bad. I looked online and saw many people saying Bad Juju is worse than more blue pulse rifles even.
I cancelled the bounty and went with the bounty for the Exotic Invective instead. Got that quite quickly.

I also got that bounty. I'm up for strike runs this week whenever you guys are on.
Bad Juju isn't a great gun right now, but the incoming buffs hopefully will make it competitive.
27 is a decent level to be able to contribute up to the last level. 28 is where things are comfortable. Also, include me in that want-to-raid group

I like that Exodus Blue (one of the best small maps) is Playstation exclusive.

I finished the strikes this afternoon. And next step was to buy something from Zur but I just missed him. So I have to wait til Friday. I'm up to 27 now and ready to raid!

I'm at level 21 and pretty bored of the game. I'm just one of those guys that doesn't replay games when they are done as I'm not a fan of repetition which is essentially the foundation of Destiny. My question is when the next DLC comes am I going to have to be at a higher level to play it or will they keep the required level down? I'm simply not going to commit the time to grinding out the same missions over and over just to level up my character. Once I pick up Shadow of Mordor I expect I won't pick up this game again until the first DLC comes out.
