Lots of stuff updated and fixed with this update.
Here’s a copy of the changelog from OnePlus:
- Added method for users to report bugs directly to Cyanogen.
- Added pause button during video recording.
- Improved battery life.
- Fixed issues with camera exposure compensation stuck in ‘auto’.
- Fixed issues with ‘4G Preferred’ option not connecting to 3G data.
- Fixed issues with delay in torch activation.
- Fixed issues with unresponsive screen requiring reboot.
- Fixed issues with static in speaker when changing volume while headset plugged in.
- Fixed issues with rotation not triggering when rotated slowly.
- Fixed issues with Quiet Hours / system UI causing battery drain on last day of month.
- Fixed issues with camera not starting when LED torch is already on.
- Fixed issues with Bluetooth volume low on connection.

A couple of things that are not mentioned in the changelog. Ultra low power mode has now been enabled for the JDI display. So your display will use less power when idling and off. Also a new feature called Sunlight enhancement for display brightness.
EDIT: Spoiler picture

You can force the install if you've got a custom recovery installed. The update is pretty nice. There's a few cosmetic changes. And I have noticed a lot better battery life on my device.

How much better can it get? Mine can already go more than 2 days without a charge with medium usage

Today for example, I made a 1Hr phone call, I surfed a ton while waiting for the subway and on the subway. I hailed a few ubers (which uses GPS and uses a lot of battery). I text/whatsapp a lot. I downloaded a couple CDs over LTE. And I have it connected to my work so I'm constantly receiving emails.
I'd say I'm pretty much a power user. I left my house at 8am today, got home around 9pm and i was at 63%.

I installed the update manually as well. I do like the new slide lockscreen, but it doesn't really look that different after you enable security. Biggest fix is the touch screen issue. No more jumpy zooming if you were one of the ones with that problem.

So far I don't think I've managed to run out of batteries on this phone ever even on days of high use where I've had like 5 hours of screen time. Lowest I've gotten to is 40% in the day. I can charge every second day if I wanted to.

Question for those who have downloaded the update and manually flashed... if I do so will I have to reconfigure everything, redownload my apps, etc? Or will this method effectively be the same process as waiting for the OTA, just faster (and yes, I'll know I'll need to re-root)?

The OTA will not affect your settings, apps regardless of how it is flashed. This applies for the same software i.e. Cyanogenmod if you do not wipe your data on the device.
OTAs are usually scheduled over a week long roll out, you can just download the OTA.

Manual flash works just like OTA. My settings all stayed the same. I still have my Gaudreau wallpaper =)
If you're not familiar with rooting and getting a custom recovery installed I would just wait for the OTA, it should be on all devices by the end of the week.

Thanks. I have applied custom ROMs before and rooted this phone before I installed anything on it. I haven't done an update in this fashion before is all.
Thanks again, I'll probably just wait since I have too much on the go anyway, but if I don't see it by the end of the long weekend I might waste some time on Monday flashing it.
And what's this I hear about a Gaudreau wallpaper?

Speaking of wallpapers. My collection of 1+ wallpapers if you like to use any of them. They aren't of Gaudreau though Should be good to see him first game.

Those are nice. We need a Flames wallpaper like the Canadian flag wallpaper. Just replace the flag with a Flames logo.
