Like no offense to the guy but it didn't seem like his previous gig was THAT challenging. You could get Canada's best players on a wall and throw darts and have equal success... if that was even his role, not sure haha.
He has way more credentials than our previous two Presidents. One was a TV guy and the other was a newspaper guy.

How did such an awesome thread get derailed to the point of debating Feaster as a GM, the Jankowski pick, and the likelihood of Knight and other prospects becoming NHL players?
Should have locked the thing after the Feaster working at the airport post, it could only go downhill from there...

It will be very interesting to see which direction the new GM (whoever it might be) decides to go with the Canucks. Full-on rebuild? Slight tweaks to become younger? Spend to the cap and continue to 'go for it'?
Any chance of a Gillis-for-Nonis swap (a la Tortorella-for-Vigneault last year)? That would be good entertainment.

One thing I want to add in this thread is that I don't think the Canucks are ready for a rebuild.

The Flames have been getting their house in order with respect to their drafting and development program. They have had a number of decent drafts since 2010. The Canucks don't seem to have that in place at the moment - though their last draft looked decent.

Edmonton didn't have their house in order at all, which is why they have managed to draft and develop very few players outside of the 1st round, and nobody that looks to have any sort of an impact.

I haven't followed the Canucks' program as much as Calgary, or even as much as Edmonton's, however. If they do decide to blow it up, they may end up being on par with Edmonton's drafting ability (though it is really hard to imagine them being that bad still).

It has been much more comforting for me as a fan to see a couple of decent drafts go by for the Flames that I felt were substantial improvements before the 'blowing it up' portion.

Even if Feaster was hired by the Canucks, it would take a couple of years I think to build up their scouting department by the looks of their past draft histories (which up until last year, has been terrible). If you feel Feaster was a 'poor trader/good drafter', this would be a disastrous move by the Canucks. Feaster himself acknowledged that he let his scouts do what they were paid to do and that he was not a good talent evaluator.

I wonder if he actually believes that when Montreal, Pittsburgh, Boston and Chicago still exist.

I'd say Vancouver is a bottom 5 hockey market currently in the NHL.

I'd even add that I'm certain some of the SEL and KHL markets are better than Vancouver.

Not that Calgary is some incredible hockey market, but come on, surely even Vancouverites don't buy that line.

Crawford is either insulting their intelligence or trying to furiously fellate their egos.

Good lord is the man really that desperate for a job that we would publicly press his lips on the rear ends of two organizations likely looking for new head coaches in the offseason? That's just sad.

Canucks fans are terrible, barely above Senator fans. Flames have barely seen any declines in season ticket sales even after 5 years out of the playoffs and the selling off of all-time popular players last season. In Vancouver three years removed from a Cup appearance and getting eliminated from the playoffs in the last week of the season fans stopped renewing season tickets and attending games. Thats a fact and embarrassing IMO.

I'd buy 3 of the 4 but PIT rises and falls with the generational talent that seemingly drops into their laps.

This is just as ridiculous as what Crawford said. Actually more so. Phoenix Miami Tampa Dallas Carolina, are likely the 5 worst. Vancouver is somewhere in the top 10.

Tampa is a pretty good market. I would replace them with Edmonton.
