Don't forget Nestor is going tonight in the Mixed Doubles finals. It would be his 14th Grand Slam title.

Anyone awake? Stan with the early lead, firing like he's trying to avenge the whole nation of Switzerland. Doesn't look sustainable but at least he's not nervous for the big show.

Nadal feeling very charitable as he gives away that set at the end. But full marks to Stan for more or less controlling the set.

Stan almost looks like he hit the juice this winter or something, the raw power on his shots is just ridiculous, was he always this strong and I just never noticed?

Damn those were some ridiculous shots, just unloading every chance he can.

He's always been on the nuggety side. I've always remembered Stan being able to bash winners, the main difference is he's much tougher mentally these days.
Basically his gambit here is to pull a Soderling/Darcis and try to hit the cover off the ball for 2 hours straight. Doesn't work 99% of the time against Rafa, but it's better than the zero chance you have otherwise.

Wow this thing is over. Not exactly sure this is how Wawrinka wanted it but Nadal looks cooked.

Rafa not even bothering with his serve ritual. Only way that's possible is if his spine is literally broken in half.

I know Nadal doesn't want to quit but is getting bageled in the third that much better?

Wawrinka up 6-3, 6-2.
Wawrinka was dominating before Nadal got hurt (6-3, 2-1) and would have won anyways, but since Nadal got hurt it has been 0 chance for Nadal.

Nadal just needs to shake hands. Nobody is going to considering it quitting, watching him barely get the ball over the net isn't very enjoyable to watch.

They just mentioned it but for Wawrinka its gotta be weird essentially only facing second serves now. Still it would be a monumental collapse to lose this match, but he's clearly lost his focus this set. Probably had to be thinking it couldn't be this easy.

Nadal wins the 3rd set 6-3.
Big 4th set for Wawrinka. Injured or not, he doesn't want this to go 5 vs Nadal.

We all should have been back in bed by now, but nooo, Stan has to be a dumbass and let the painkillers take effect. Even the Rafa OCD is back in full force.

Wawrinka should go ahead and finish this match now. I do not like his chances at all in a fifth.

Really love the muted reaction. Kinda sums up how to feel about that one. He was in control against healthy Rafa and he earned it.
