I wish MNF was always 7pm. Much better for us on this side of the continent.
Too early for us on this side of the continent. If it's for a doubleheader, fine. I'm not a football fan but I was at a MNF party and with the 1st game taking longer, USA viewers were able to see the HOU-SD kickoff on ESPN2. Canadian viewers were SOL as TSN2 showed Sportscentre and we missed the first 5 minutes. Lame.
to quote Dennis Green "the chargers are who we thought they were"..... they are a joke and i say that even though they are my team. never seen a team that can find more ways to lose.. Rivers will get blamed but that pick was a pretty nice play by Cushing.... didnt look like recievers were getting open in the second half....
Still stand by the fact that it should have been a suspension, that's the only way you are going to deter these kinda of plays. $100k is probably pocket change to a guy like this.

Suh's salary this year: $630,000
but....
Suh's signing bonus this year: $11,520,000
And per twitter, he has earned around $57 million in his career so far.
So while it is a lot of money, in the grand scheme of things he can almost dig this out of the spare change he loses in his couch.

Didn't see anything on this but Calvin Johnson is starting to get the raw deal on the whole "process" rule. Cruz scored in a very similar fashion and it counted.
So the NFL has said there was a second blown call in the Packers/49ers game. And it was actually on the same play:
Quote:
The second blown call was revealed on Monday, when the league said upon review that Staley should not have been flagged, and that the 49ers actually should have had 1st-and-goal from the Green Bay three-yard line. So, the 49ers — who were thought to have received a gift – were actually put in a hole when they should have been able to try to pound it in from closer inside the red zone.

Let's be honest, this is the NFL's way of copping out of making the officials take responsibility for thier incorrect assessment of the penalties and potential impact it had on the game.
Personally I thought calling Staley looked pretty chinsey as Matthews was the one acting like a cave man. So I do agree that he never should have got the flag in the first place.
This just allows the NFL to more or less say two wrongs resulted in the right call.

To be honest, when the subsequent flag came out I was expecting Matthews to be ejected for the swings he was taking. But I knew I wasn't objective and the replay showed Matthews swinging like a girl so I figured the officials must have seen Staley do something that wasn't caught on camera.

Well put. Sums it up exactly how I thought it myself. When all is said and done in that 30 second span everything came out even.

Von Miller has yet another indiscretion, this time while under his 6 game suspension. He was cited for driving without a license and speeding....and his coach is not very happy with him.
Quote:
"Obviously we're not happy about it. Everybody here has an individual responsibility, not only to themselves, but to this organization, to this football team, so it's something we're not pleased about. We'll leave it at that," Broncos coach John Fox said Wednesday.
Quote:
There was some concern when Miller's latest citations became public that it could warrant additional punishment under the league's conduct policy because Miller was arrested in August on a failure-to-appear warrant.
Asked Wednesday if he thought Miller's suspension would be increased, Fox said: "You'd have to ask the commissioner that.''
Quote:
Miller's August arrest occurred when he was trying to purchase a firearm at a gun range/store near the Broncos' complex in south suburban Denver, while he was preparing for an appeal hearing for his current suspension. A mandatory background check revealed he had an outstanding warrant, and Miller was arrested at the store. He had failed to appear for a court date that stemmed from multiple citations last October for careless driving, driving without a license and not having proof of insurance. His original court date had been Dec. 31
Susan Schroeder, Orange County District Attorney Spokesperson, confirms Miller never showed up for that ticket and a warrant was issued for his arrest. That warrant is currently active out of Orange County, California.
The DA’s office also sent notice to the DMV that Miller never paid a fine or showed up for court.
