I'll be happy if these Özil to Arsenal rumors are true. 45m Euros.

Spanish radio station Cadena Cope. Usually reliable, they first broke the Thiago to Bayern transfer and were the first with the United bid for Herrera yesterday as well. Just one of the many twitter accounts reporting it now:

Other major news and surprise for tonight, Özil to Arsenal for €45M with €5M bonuses according to the reliable Cadena Cope.

Sky had a report earlier today that an agent had told them he was trying to move one of his clients to London in a 45m deal
I dono if it was the chicken or the egg compared to Cadena (who are usually solid)

would be a great signing for Arsenal though
Cazorla/Ozil/Walcott behind the striker offers a bit of everything
I still think they need a DM, keeper, and defensive help moreso but Ozil is world class
crazy by Madrid

this is fantastic if true
James Pearce @Pearcesport 3h
I'm told Mike Ashley let Cabaye listen to phone negotiations last week + he heard Arsenal say: "25 million a lot for a reserve"

Would be the best English signing of the summer.
Herrera sounding as if it is going to happen. Reports also that Everton want Zaha on loan as part of Fellaini deal.
This is an absolutely fantastic tool.

I hope Fellaini and Herrera will both happen, would be tremendous upgrades in midfield. Fellaini adds steel and goal threat, Herrera adds creativity. Perfect additions IMO in terms of what the team needs. This would probably drop Cleverley to #4 in CM, but surely Fusebox wouldn't mind ^^
The Baines transfer seems to be off though, as he was allowed to join the England squad today.

raphael honigstein @honigstein 12m
Özil's wage demands the main reason why other clubs didn't bite, I believe. Will be close to 200k once add-ons etc are factored in

still think no Baines is a good thing for United
Cleverley could still be played more attacking but seeing as Shinji can't even make the bench....

Moyes said today that Shinji still lacks match fitness after an injury. Said that he and Nani are about level right now in terms of match fitness, just decided to put Nani on the bench instead of Shinji because he thought he might need another winger at some point. Shinji will get his chance.
I would have liked to add Baines. Baines + RvP ... goals galore. But with Evra still being good enough, there's probably not that much urgency. Makes more sense to throw money at Southampton for Shaw, for example.

Everton have agreed a Ł15million deal for Porto midfielder Fernando – thus paving the way for Marouane Fellaini's departure to Manchester United.
It has been confirmed that Roberto Martinez is at a work permit hearing in London in an attempt to secure Everton the signature of the Brazilian, who is set to become Fellaini's replacement.
Anxious United fans were wondering why there had been little news about Fellaini on Monday morning but the reason was Martinez was waiting to complete a deal to bring Fernando to Goodison Park and guarantee he could get a work permit which has now been secured.
