I haven't liked Fleury since he scored in his own net at the WJC.

Starting to see a trend of the coverage being dialed in on Malkin and Sid (especially on the PP) which leaves some very dangerous room for Iggy.

Hoping we'll see him start to pot a few more goals in addition to keeping up with the assists.

I like watching this Pens team. Great to see Iggy playing with guys of his calibre. He never had that here, outside of the goalie. Which ironically is the one suspect piece there. A guy like Kipper does not let in the 2 goals off the backboards, and this series is 3-0 Pens.

The Pens were deadly when Geno and Sid were out. I liked the stat that TSN showed indicating the 4 deadline pickups had 45 percent of their goals (including Murray and I was surprised that he scored the goal he did tonight). The great thing is that guys like Morrow and Jokinen will fill the role requested. Step up when required, but quietly do the job when they are bumped down.

I would like to see them win. After years of paying his dues here against the odds, it would be nice to see Iggy rewarded. Not to mention seeing Sid earn another cup as the best player on the planet. I like good hockey.

Feel free to talk about my posts not your made up idea about what I say.

I have been consistent all year long that I think the Islanders are a bad team. Would love to see the posts in which I call other teams out for being bad.

Thanks for ignoring what was said in that post because it wasn't that they were bad but sissy teams.

If you are actually tired of my "negative presence" feel free to stop quoting me.

He's certainly putting up the points, but I never think he's shining when I watch him play. He looks slow and somewhat weak on many plays. He's tried the old come off the boards out of the corner like a bull driving to the net move a few times, but he always gets pushed off the puck. He's looked out of it on lots of plays I feel.

It's been a bit disappointing to me as watching him is my main reason for following the Pens games. If he wasn't there I'd be cheering for the Isles instead.

Shootout the lights, 9 goals. The Islanders can play with the Penguins. Fun game to watch, looking forward to hopefully the same offensive output next game.

I think Iginla has spent more time in his own zone in the last 10 games than he has the last 10 years combined.

I've even seen him behind the Pens own goal line engaging in the action.

You are looking for 2004 Iginla. He no longer exists.

Fact is Iginla will never re-capture that dominating style of play...he's older now. Doesn't mean he isn't contributing a lot.

Iginla was starting to look very good with Malkin and Neal just before Neal got his concussion, and he looked very good when he wasn't playing with Malkin, but he's struggled when on a line with Malkin and anyone other than Neal.

It would make sense to take him off the second line until Neal returns, but the 1st and 3rd lines are pretty much set in stone and Iginla obviously isn't a 4th liner, so Iginla and Malkin are going to have to make it work. If he can keep racking up points and being a threat on the power play, that should be enough to beat the Islanders and hopefully either Neal or the chemistry or both is there by the next round.

I agree, he's working harder in the defensive end then I've seen in years. He is putting points on the board but is still a defensive liability. I haven't checked the stats but for a guy whose put up 5 points I wouldn't be surprised if he's a minus player. Seems like every time the islanders score he's on the ice. Playing him on the point was also disaster. The pens have since pulled him off the point and I believe he was benched for a good portion if overtime the other night because of his poor defensive play. Either that or his foot speed, he can't keep up with the islanders.

I still think the Flames are better without him. Don't get me wrong he's a great guy but when you're on the ice for more goals then you produce you're not benefiting the team.

Him on the point against the speedy Islanders wasn't working, but he was deadly there the last few weeks of the regular season and will likely be back there if the matchups are right in upcoming rounds.

They are making similar comments on the various Penguins boards. Consensus is they are happy Iginla is contributing, but he looks slow, and doesn't seem to have chemistry with Malkin at all. Concerns he may not jive well with Sid as his legs just don't seem there.

One thing the Canucks game last night made me think was it was nice to see players in this game taking huge hits and just jumping right back up and into the play...not a whole lot of trying to draw calls both teams appeared to be trying to play hockey.

Agreed. That's why it is so great to watch this series, cheer for the Isles and if they lose, at least Iggy is closer to his cup.

The way that Okposo is playing in this series thus far, reminds me a little bit of Iggy in '04. That said Nabokov is not as good as Kipper so I don't think they will get far. They may beat the Pens as Fleury is shaky right now, but not pass the second round.

Article up about Iginla and his new team on NHL.com.. kind of shabby writing but the message is great:
