Glad the Bulls took game 1. Here's hoping they can keep it up and pull off the big upset.

That has sting for Golden State who was up 16 with 4 minutes left. Then 5 in the first OT. Then up 1 in in double OT with 3 seconds left. Can't forget Steph Curry playing his ass off either.
Golden State has now lost 30 straight road games vs San Antonio (last win, February 14, 1997). Another way to look at is Tim Ducan has never lost to Golden State at home.

Two very exciting NBA games. Course there were a couple of good NHL games as well. Some fuel for the fire on the NBA vrs NHL playoff thread.

The Heat has become the new Lakers. Many questionable calls went their way in Game 3 against the Bulls.

I'm guessing Tom Thibodeau is going be fined for saying the following:
Tom Thibodeau on Princess LeBron/Nazr play: "I saw a guy basically flop. And I’m going to leave it at that."
Then again his whole press conference was pretty much a tirade pointed towards the referees and how the Heat are getting every call and they aren't.

I'm cool with a T on Mohammed, but the straight ejection? Way too excessive. 90's NBA and thats maybe a foul period, and here its a toss. Bulls definitely were a bit out of control last night and made some dumb mistakes, but you can't make a call like that. If LeBron pushed Mohammed it wouldn't be an ejecion.

The Heat were getting the calls last night and the Mohammed ejection was debatable. But I can see why that was a toss in these day in the NBA. What doesn't help the Bulls was they committed silly fouls. I knew they wanted to play physical but there's a fine line between committing smart and silly fouls.

We watch the NBA because like wrestling its entertaining, with well set up sub-plots and clear faces and heels, that can change given circumstance. I'd love to see what Vince McMahon could do as NBA commish. Because the current one is going through ANOTHER ownership mess.
Quote:
The cash-strapped Maloofs have made a "backup" agreement with a Seattle-based group led by the deep-pocketed Chris Hansen and Steve Ballmer to sell it 20 percent of the team for $125 million to allow the Maloofs to continue to operate the franchise, the sources said.
That new plan comes on the heels of Hansen's announcement on Friday that he had upped his offer to buy the Maloofs' 65 percent of the Kings from $358 million to $409 million, which would boost the estimated value of the team at sale to $625 million.
Sources said that new proposal also included a $115 million offer to owners as a relocation fee, which would amount to about $4 million per team. By comparison, in 2008 when the Oklahoma City Thunder moved from Seattle, they paid a $30 million total fee to the other owners.
To consider the new figures on the table, the NBA relocation committee has scheduled another meeting ahead of next Tuesday's full owners meeting in Dallas, sources said.
Two weeks ago, that same committee voted unanimously to reject the relocation request to Seattle, and the full body of owners was expected to follow that recommendation. It appeared a prospective ownership group based in Sacramento had won and the team would stay long term.

Either way an entire city is going to feel like it got screwed yet again. Adam Silver unfortunetly is just a Stern clone.

Nope. They might as well hand the Heat the championship. They are pretty much unbeatable.

Memphis can beat Miami. Tony Allen can do a strong enough job on LeBron and the Grizzlies can straight up massacre the Heat inside. No way they can stop ZBo and Gasol. Gonna take some strong shooting performances for Miami to win that series.

If Wade is healthy he will destroy whoever they put on him and Allen, Battier, Chambers will kill Memphis with corner 3's. Allen will possibly limit James but he will still destroy him if need be.
If Wade is healthy the Heat should cruise fairly easily, if Wade is still struggling at about 60% then maybe Memphis can make it a tougher series.
Memphis gets overrated because people like watching their big guys inside and supposed strong defense but they are having a tough time beating a Westbrook-less Thunder and 5th in the West for a reason.

I think the Heat play down to the level of their opponent. The Heat's offense in this series is subpar and you can tell by the speed the players moved, it seems to be a tad slower than during the regular season. It's almost as if the Heat aren't interested in playing against the Bulls.

They scored 115 and 104 in 2 games this series and have won the last 3 games by 37, 20 and 23. If that is playing down to their opponent I think the Heat can live with that.

Hows this for insane/embarassing? Jason Kidd has played 177 minutes in is last 8 games, or about 22 minutes per game...and has 0 points. 0-16 in that stretch. The Knicks might be the most screwed team in the league, and thats saying something with Boston and LA's problems. Until Amare and his $20 million albatross take off in 2 seasons, the Knicks are stuck in neutral.

That and that any team with Melo on is just not going to win anything in the playoff. Melo had won like 1 series in the past 8 or 9 years, stats like this don't lie. Great players like Molone, Stockton or Barkley might not have won any championships but at least they had won series.
