Wise Gamble, I'm finding it hard finding a better rapper than Shad at this point. I've been studying, following, buying and listening to Hip Hop for just over 13 years now and as far as technically sound rhyme schemes and intricate metaphors/similes go, no one can touch Shad.
In fact, in a general scope, I feel Canadian Hip Hop is at the pinnacle of Hip Hop in its present time. I mean, I have the utmost respect to the founding fathers in the US, but no one can even come close to Shad or D-Sisive right now.
On another topic, k'naan's gone pop with his latest album. There's no going back for him now. If history proves anything, he'll attempt a comeback into the Hip Hop scene by getting Jay-Z, Nas, Kanye, whoever on his album, but by then all respect has been lost.

Yeah? Haven't seen him live. Can't wait till he does a show in Van. I understand he's studying at Simon Fraser right now, so he you'd think he'd be doing a lot of shows locally. I once passed him walking on West Hastings, but I was too much of a bitch to actually go up and say hi hahaha.

I might be the oldest Rap fan around here.
I have been listening to Rap since Grandmaster Flash came out on 12 inch.
Most kids were into metal etc. I was hooked the moment a friend invited me over to listen to this vinyl he picked up in 1982. "The Message".We listened to that over and over countless amounts of times.
It was a different world. Drive to Seattle just to purchase an NWA record because it was banned in Canada. Even allot of places would not stock Public Enemy when they came out.
Your right about Shad, nice Canadian talent reminds me a bit like Jay Z nice flow.

Yeah I go to SFU I've seen him around many times. Saw him live twice in Van and he puts on a great show. Really worth the price.
