There were a couple different theories, and the theory that he was bombed and killed was most prevalent. In fact, while President Obama was speaking, Fox News was still running a ticker that said 'Osama Bin Laden killed a week ago.' Now normally, if it were just Fox News with this theory, I might shrug it off but every news channel was reporting that he had been dead for days and the US had his body. Now the news says that Bin Laden was buried at sea and no country would take his remains.
If you google it, a lot of links to the 'Osama dead one week ago' have been broken, but there are message boards rampant with questions on about the conflicting reports. I just read one story on TIME's website that said the DNA evidence was taken from the body before the burial at sea and it's still in process, and they didn't want to bury Bin Laden for fear of a shrine to him by his people (which makes sense).
I am not trying to make a big conspiracy, I am just saying that the whole thing sounds pretty shady to me. I don't think we'll ever really know what happened. I just hope another videotape doesn't surface with Osama holding a paper up from the future, in the future.
I hope, for all of the people who were killed in 9/11, for all of the military who selflessly gave their lives (Canadians, Americans and allies), for all of the civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan who died, for all of the strife and heartbreak suffered by families of the victims-- that Osama Bin Laden's death gives hope
for peace, and gives some closure to the immense grief he has caused.

I know right!
And can you believe there were media reports right after Pearl Harbor that Japanese troops had actually landed on Hawaii soil, and that a car bomb had exploded outside the Capitol on 9/11, and that a hijacked plane was headed for the whitehouse on the evening of 9/11, and that Gabrielle Giffords was killed on Jan 8, an that Al Gore won the state of Florida!?
I can't believe the media doesn't get every detail correct right after an event like this!

I find this a bit fishy because it is widely known that Bin Laden had kidney disease even before 9-11, and needed dialysis machines to survive.
How long can you have a body on ice in a morgue? Maybe Bin Laden was killed earlier, and the establishment wanted to wait for a politically opportune time to declare his death....

I already posted several comments.....
Many people are questioning the legitimacy of this, it's healthy. If the U.S. releases photos etc., I'm on board.
Not that Bin Laden's death will change anything.....but score some political points for Obama.

And who are these impartial people whom you speak of?
So a President goes on air and announces the death of their most hunted man in the last 50 years, and you are skeptical? Why? to what end would this be if it had a chance of being wrong?
Give it a rest already.

I see your conspiracy and raise you...
What if the media/GWB Whitehouse reported he was close to death and very ill so he wouldn't seem so important and thus take the pressure off the Bush presidency???

Why is there a conspiracy behind EVERY *** thing these days. Its so annoying.
|
Hasty address?? He delayed his speech for more than an hour last night. And as far as missing his audience- the news of Osama Bin Laden's death interrupted every major network during Prime Time and announced the President would be speaking at 10:30 EST, which ended up being 11:35EST.
Come on.. missed out on his audience?? I haven't talked to one person today who didn't sit with anticipation to hear that speech.

10:30PM is prime time? More like bed time. If I were in the eastern time zone, I would have totally missed the address.

Someone posted a video a few pages back of George W. telling the media that Bin Laden's capture was not the primary focus of operations in the Middle East.

So in your opinion this is a "politically opportune time". A Sunday night close to midnight EST, over 400 days to an election.
Yeah you sure got your thinking cap on.

Then how come when Bush was questioned it was unpatriotic?
