It's a game thread, people discuss the game. It's a discussion board, people discuss elements of hockey. Stop attempting to shut down the lone purpose of this website, it's weird and arrogant.

When a poster opines on something that is unsubstantiated, they are vulnerable to a response. I don’t care whether you like the substantiated and correct response.

It wasn't a correct response, it an attempt to shut discussion
So if you are 1 for 1 you are the greatest ever lol
He has been a fairly consistent SO scorer...the point is it's not an outlandish choice
I didn't mean that, Huberdeau is a decent choice I guess at this point in the SO. I'm trying to remember how he did in Florida and it was ok IIRC.
I'm just saying you can't compare guys with different amounts of goals without looking at how many attempts they have.
Shootout percentage is a bad stat - the sample size is way too small (eg Ritchie last year).
But if you really want %, Huberdeau had a decent percentage last year.
% doesn't work well if you don't have enough of a sample size, true. But looking at absolute numbers never works without looking at how many attempts there is. Someone could have (theoretically) 100 SO goals but 1000 attempts, 10% still isn't good.
edit: I don't think Huberdeau is a good choice atm but at the same time I'm not sure who would be. So I was ok with him shooting.
No one cares who he is, we all know. An appeal to authority argument is ridiculous.
Appeal to authority is only a fallacy if the authority is irrelevant.
Timbit is, in fact, an authority on this subject. He is well qualified to point out when someone's opinion is unsubstantiated.
I, on the other hand, am not an authority on hockey. But I am well qualified to point out the difference between ‘shutting down discussion’ and laughing at someone who says foolish things. You have not been silenced, only butthurt.
