Yeah me too. I know the Jays aren't getting him, but I want to see if they can snag anyone else and nothing is moving until he picks a spot.

I'm really scared to see what they do. We know their eggs are not in one basket this year (from all the rumors). When Soto doesn't sign, what happens if they're the bridesmaid to the 2A free agents? I really don't want them to overpay for someone who is the #7 free agent (aka: Teoscar). I don't care overpaying for one year, but it's never one year extra. Ideally they sign a couple 2A individuals then look to a retool year by dealing Bo. I think Bo will bounce back but he's the only guy we can legitimately get a lot for to fill out the rest of the roster down the road.

^ Bo's stock is at and all time low and he is UFA in 2026. I don't think there will be a huge return for him. Or at least it will be underwhelming.

I'm not putting them in the same bucket, but his position and age, plus his previous capability, is likely to result in something good. I truly believe if a team thinks they have an inside track to sign him, his value would be high.

Agreed, yet they still should move him....

Bo, looks like a guy who really wants to move on to another team,

I think its extremely unlikely that he re-signs.

At this point, there is only upside to keeping Bo IMO. His value is already pretty low. If he’s good, he can attract a decent return at the deadline. If not, he’ll get you slightly less than he would if you trade him today. If he is put in an improved Jays lineup where the pressure isn’t on him to carry the load, I think the odds are heavily in favour that he will rebound. If Jays’ management whiff yet again this off-season it will be a tougher slog for him.

I’m also not completely convinced that he isn’t interested in re-signing and I’d like to see who he really is before moving on from him. The Bo of last year felt like an imposter wearing a Bichette jersey.

Fully correct imo. Bo has shown arguably he may be a more consistent player than Vlad. Odds are last year was an outlier, though in baseball it could be the start of a career prolonging injury. Only the staff know. In any case, the most ideal situation is you resign Bo to a reasonable deal acknowledging his past performance and not lowballing because of last year. However, I don’t know how you fill in the rest of the lineup if you resign both him and Vlad to large deals. Which is why I think they’re going to sign a SS, hope he improves and deal him for a retool for next season. I just can’t see many scenarios where this works out for the team long term when they don’t have a staple prospect pipeline to fill in gaps in the lineup.

He is a trade deadline move IMO, unfortunately the return is not going to be high.

Still don't think there is any chance he resigns.

I bet they are not even talking about an extension,

I don’t think there’s been any conversation because both parties understand each others’ conundrum. Bo doesn’t want to sell himself short when he’s at his lowest. Jays don’t want to offer him a premium because of that uncertainty. If he turns it around early in the season I’d imagine contract talks would start.

My guess is the dam breaks tomorrow with some signings, now that US Thanksgiving is done.

I hope so! Its ridiculous that the market is tied up until one player makes up his mind! I hope the Jays just walk on by Soto!

Problem with that is the players are going to want to wait until they get all their offers, which won't happen until Soto signs.

2 budget jays all talk no signing.
Another off-season of disappointment

More glove first from atkins

It's really hard to say what's true and not. But I don't think the roster will be more or less the same going into the season. They've done the d-first lineup about 3 years now, doubling down last year. It didn't work. So you know they'll add some O, through a DH at the very least.

Agreed, Jays will definitely add, in terms of the bull pen and hitters

The real key is will they add fillers, or will they add legit pieces?

Its concerning they seem to be in the same cycle as last offseason

There will be at least one legit signing. I’d put money on it. Beyond that I certainly don’t think they can do much. But that one signing with be their marketing piece.

I think today is the last day for Black Friday $9 tickets.

Just got a Score alert saying Soto could be offered the most cash by the Jays. Let the silliness begin.

Yep, read the article, stating that the Jays could have the highest offer.

Gossip online is Soto will be a Red Sox (guess need to wait and see)

No doubt they will add. Another old guy. It's tough to sign in Toronto i get it but money talk too. Overpay to get ok production last year they signed kiermeir 10 turner 13 and ikf 8. Could havr signed hernandez or bigger bat and went replacement for rest and got more value ! Atkins etc stick to a budget I feel and talk to every free agent. Then.... Last min might get a bite. We'll I hope they take more risks. Save face on soto sign hernandez fans would love it.
