Yeah they're going to say it was weather and out of their control. I can fight it I guess but that doesn't help me get home.

It is worth a swing and see what you hit.
Sounds like you have time on your hands and if it doesn't cost you anything, it might be worth trying.

Well, my friend's flight to YYC was also just cancelled so I'm not sure what's going on at this point. Possibly the YVR issues are screwing up everything, i.e. no planes down here to take anyone anywhere.

It’s not weather if it’s only Westjet cancelling flights. Assuming Westjet, based on the YYC departure board.

I got one of these.
Turns out it was my mortgage broker congratulating me on my mortgage anniversary and letting me know I don't need to call them back, but to feel free to contact them with any questions I have.
I only know this because they sent a follow up email after I missed the call.

I’ve tried to think of a way. But “fun adventure” and “flight to Edmonton” seems impossibly challenging.

I abhor death in any form. Which is why I have a very larger and very graphic bumper sticker of the Grim Reaper being sodomized on all of my cars.

I can see this side, for sure. But ultimately to me it's the fact they're on the road, so it's being forced on every person in society. I swear way too much, I know this, but I wouldn't put a swear word on my vehicle where kids will be seeing it constantly, it just seems really rude and inappropriate.
Kind of like people that have swear words on their T-shirts or hoodies. Just looks tacky and out of place in public.

I should have been more specific... I was flying flair from LAX back to YVR. A bunch of YVR flights were canceled due to a snow storm there (though it hasn't snowed in a while). But it's a mess there right now with people stranded. That being said, other flights are landing there today, including a Flair flight from LAX - they had 2 today and only canceled mine. So they can land there. I just don't think they have a plane here due to it being stuck at YVR.
My friends are both flying westjet from LAX to YYC. That one is canceled without explanation. Checking the westjet website, yesterday's flight was also canceled as was the earlier LAX - YYC flight today. I'm not sure if that has to do with equipment not being here or what.
I am pretty pessimistic about being able to get back to Canada tomorrow, at this point...

Time to look at alternative travel arrangements. I'm exited to follow this tale of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles that you must embark upon to return for Christmas. I hope you meet someone very nice along the way.

Isn’t there actually Amtrak service from LA to Van? That might be fun.

It seems you are correct. The trip duration is something like 36-37 hours though.

Fly to Regina or an airport just south of the border and then make a connecting flight/car rental?

You just said it doesnt hurt anyone to a post specifically identifying how that sticker causes him harm.
