Listening to Dreger on Barnburner he says from a very good source that Bennett has no interest in the Leafs. If it is not Florida on an 8x8 I wonder if a team like the Hurricanes doesn’t throw a monster offer?

$64M from Florida or $70M from another team? If the Panthers were to go up to $8M Benny is not going anywhere

Not surprising he wouldn’t be interested in Toronto

- they have a decade of playoff futility
- Toronto fans are brutal
- Treliving is the guy under whose watch his career was bungled until he asked to get out

Why sign up for that when you’re the 2C on a team that has made the finals 3 years in a row and won the Cup last year?

If he and Florida can come to reasonable terms he should stay

This playoff performance proves that Bennet and Agent were right in thinking that the Flames were burying him on the 3rd/4th line here in Calgary killing his confidence and progression.

Seeing this GOAT Bennett right now is the player we dreamed of having when Bennett was first drafted. Sucks that he had to reach his ceiling and potential elsewhere. Should've been on the flames... (at least it's against the Oilers!).

All the organization can do now is hopefully learn from it.

If someone offers him $10x7 I could see him willing to stay in florida for just over 8x8. 8.25 would pay him 66 vs 70 as a ufa. 4M after the tax benefits seems pretty good to me if I’m Sam
