Genie just won her opening round match in Guadalajara in straight sets 7-5 6-3. Gets Jelena Ostapenko next which is interesting because Ostapenko can run hot and cold. Somedays she's a world beater (beat Iga earlier this year) and other days she is in pretty terrible form.

Well, not only is the overhand server illegal, but his volley on the return was also illegal. You have to let the return of serve bounce.

I saw some of this, after Day broke her serve to go up 5-4, I was wondering if she was going to fall flat but then she broke and looked really good through the end of the first set and beginning of the second.
Nice to see

Bianca serving at 4-love in set 3 - Has really cut down on the unforced errors and is slowly draining the fighting spirit out of Petra.

Day off or no?
I have no audio, but it looked like she had a blister on her finger that needed treatment.

Yes, a day off tomorrow as Bianca awaits the winner of Rybakina vs. Pegula. And you are right, Bianca did receive treatment for something on her finger (likely a blister) but it didn't seem to bother her too much.

And just won the opening set in a tie-break. Nailed 15 aces in set 1. Impressive stuff from Rebecca.

Rebecca was down a break in set 3, but broke back and we're back on serve with Garcia serving to stay in the match at 4-5

Damn, so close, but Garcia takes it 7-5 in the 3rd set tie-break. Heck of an effort from Rebecca.

Shapo kicks off his Stockholm campaign with a nice straight sets win over Antoine Bellier who is essentially a left handed version of Maxime Cressy (big time serve and volley game). 6-4 7-5 and Denis served very well and passing shots were sublime.

Genie versus Ostapenko has just started (TSN5 has the match). Three games in and no holds of serve yet, Genie serving at 2-1 in set 1.

Ostapenko rallies late from a 4-1 deficit in set 1 to take the opening set 7-5. Genie starts set 2 with a break of the Ostapenko serve.
