But what's their common thread:
Yes that's right, they deep fry everything.

I have learned a great many things from Gaucho.
The first is to never fill up on bread/salad/soup. Thats how they get ya!
The second is that my ability to consume nothing but meat over and over and over again is at an intermediate level at best.
Thirdly...the South Americans know a thing or three about meat. They take that very seriously. They know what they're about.
And finally...'the meat sweats' are not nearly as much fun as people might have led you to believe nor as good a time as they've been made out to be.

I am the worst there because I am a very light eater. But it is the wings that are stellar and I prefer those to the tenderloins and other meat. So a huge waste of money. The Minas wings are nuts but hardly worth $50 or whatever it is now.

I'm the opposite, I love the tenderloins and other meats and usually steer away from wings but, and I learned this a long, long time ago...I also dont eat tons.
Buffets are a waste of money for me, there is no way those prices are worth it for someone like me. The only real benefit is trying small amounts of variety, but even then, yeah like $50 is a waste for me. Like you said, just not worth it.

You two are a perfect match to get together there for the platter, get the meat sweats and the meat schitz but don't forget to invite Fuzz for the handshakes.

Went to Namo with the family on New Year’s Day. Among the dishes we had were a harissa lamb brunch bowl, far east duck bowl with gochujang aoli, breakfast donburi with miso sesame teriyaki, green goddess avocado toast with goat cheese and pistachio, and honey cardamom latte.

I am joking. There are even posts afterwards about ram sized drive thrus and duallies. It was a joke. Great. Eat your ####ing harissa. I've known about harissa for decades. I made my own because there was literally no one here that made it. Big ####ing deal.

Wasn’t that location where his wife worked? I’ve been going to Henry over on Macleod and Heritage for at least 20 years now. I don’t think that guy ever stops working.

I tried to make tteokbokki once (the bite of those cylinders are nuts and tasty), so went to E-Mart and bought that Gochujang and the rice cakes. No idea what brand it was because they were like 70 of them (they really should put some english and recipe cards showing what people need to buy for Korean Shortribs or whatever), anyways.
I just put water, sugar and the red goo, but totally botched the ratios and it was the spiciest thing I have ever eaten but still liked it so I relented and ate it, I was buckled for days, not sure my guts have ever been the same.
Not sure if I bought the wrong one or ratios botched, those things are so good.
