Meh, we're really good at lying to ourselves, especially about something we're excited about. I convinced myself that the first Hobbit was good. Then I saw the second and reconsidered.
Totally OT, but I am reading the Hobbit to my son right now and he is loving it. He asked if there was a movie and I lied to him lol.
There are a number of fan-edits you might want to take a look at it. Some of them cut the movies to better follow the book, or remove a lot of the filler and excess action scenes.

During a recent panel at Awesome Con moderated by ScreenRant's Joe Deckelmeier, Pegg, who attended the event with his Cornetto Trilogy costar, Frost, shares an update on Star Trek 4. The Scotty actor shares his hopes that another installment will eventually come to fruition, but, unfortunately, he doesn't have any concrete news to share about the film's status
When asked who he would like Frost to play in a future Star Trek project, Frost chimes in, saying enthusiastically, "Harry Mudd!" Pegg is seemingly aware of his frequent collaborator's desire to play this memorable character, revealing that he has pitched the idea
No, you have it all wrong. First you need to force your enemies to acknowledge your Greatness. Make them realize that they were wrong to oppose you in the first place.

Dukat is a great villain. Comes off as almost cartoonishly evil if you don't know the depth of Cardassian culture. But IMO he's as close to a romantic ideal cardassian as worf is to a paragon klingon.
If they don't use Star Trek 4 as a chance to be a bit goofy and not re-make, but, you know, do a Star Trek 4 time travel back to Earth and be a bit silly, well, I'll just suggest that would be a major missed opportunity.

"Well...you're going back in time in order to save the Earth...but its not whales you need to capture. Its more Orange and Burgery...you can still throw him in a preposterously huge tank of water tho...I doubt he can swim...dealer's choice really.
But you are going to have to still use a Klingon Bird of Prey because, frankly...we're going to pin this abduction on Aliens. A friend of the Federation has a dumb TV show that depends on it and we don't want to take the heat on this one..."
