The most surprising rumor circulating (and I was also just told this by a source in the press box for the Isles and Panthers) is that the Leafs have actually had some discussions involving Dougie Hamilton for Nylander...

I would trade Smith and a 3rd for injured Quick.
Or what ever it takes to get injured Jonathan Quick.
I would be fine with Rittich and Gilles until he recovers in 4 weeks.

I don't think this really adds much to calgary and leaves a gap in depth on D.

Too much term left. Also, Stone is more effective than Lucic is. I really don't get the "get rid of Stone" mentality around here, he's a great depth defensemen, even if somewhat expensive.

And why would we help Edmonton out at all by giving them a defensive defensemen, not to mention taking Lucic of their hands. Wouldn't it just be better to continue to roast marshmellows over the tire fire?

Lucic is in year 3 of 7!!
Helping the Oilers get out of that contract would be blasphemy.

Have you heard something? Would do that deal if Lucic had the same term or one extra year.

Weirdest proposal I've seen. A good depth defenceman who Calgary will need over the season, and who would immediately improve the roster of a rival, for a guy who wouldn't improve Calgary one tiny bit.
If you had to trade with Edmonton, for someone who's in the doghouse there, make a deal for PullRV. Or Talbot.

Taking a while to get to 5000
|
Again, why would Bobrovsky forego free agency to sign here for less than he currently makes?

Among others I watched the Tampa Bay game, Lucic had no impact other then he has become a very expensive goon, looks like a 4th line guy.

Not sure if you're getting Bobrovsky signed for near 7M and Toronto laughs at the Nylander trade.
I doubt the Kings consider that trade, but a desperate team might just be looking up shaking up the team so it's not crazy crazy.

That's the weirdest one you've seen? Today maybe.
I don't like Stone but in a depth role I think he's perfect. I know he draws a large salary for a 6-7 guy but he is going to be very important come playoff time.

A. how do you sign Bob for a $500K pay cut?
B. What is Nylander going to get paid?
C. Why does LA do that deal? Bennett and Neal are underperforming at least in production, Bennett is an upcoming RFA and Neal older and more expensive (with term) than Toffoli. If LA is rebuilding, Neal is not a guy they want.
