I suspect if Markstrom leaves, we'll be in the market for a 1B or 2A?

Unless we also trade Vladar because someone comes asking I'd assume we're just going with a Wolf 60% / Vladar 40% kind of approach for next year.

I wouldn’t mind seeing what an uninjured Vladar can do….

I think the starts would be flipped. Ride Vladar into the ground and shelter Wolf

Same here.
I think he can help us get a top 5 pick next season.

I forgot about him. Seems like a Vladar/Wolf combo would be a good one to ride for next season (or at least until there is a problem).
Took a peak at the UFA goalies coming up and there's a couple options there that could also be reliable for a 50% split with Wolf if Vladar isn't around (for any reason).

Taking a while to get to 5000

Entirely possible if a deal with NJD is struck that they send Allen back. Can't see them going with Markstrom/Allen with Smid in the mix but thats just me.

I just keep coming back to good either way.
There was a worry that Markstrom was an albatross contract.
Now it seems there is a dispute between 10th overall (retention/other pieces), and the 2025 1st round pick.
We've come a long way!
Also appears that those that thought the deadline was Conroy's only chance may also have been in error.

I would do Markstrom + Dallas 2nd for 10th overall and a 3rd
Even retain a little bit 25%?

But the gnashing of the teeth and the pulling of the hair by some people we saw never gets old!

Probably the goal. I imagine it shakes out with reversed percentages, but that’s just my opinion.

I cannot imagine a scenario where Keefe is looking at goaltending that is either worse or the same as what he had in Toronto over the last 5 years and telling Fitzgerald “we are good in that position”. It would be wild though if they rolled with their current goaltending

Yep, I originally had 50/50. My guess is it'll be close to that other than if someone gets on a streak, which I thought was more likely to happen with Wolf than Vladar so he might just end up with more games naturally.
Though that also assumes we're scoring enough to string together some wins... TBD on that with what they do with the roster this summer. Might not matter who's in net.

New Jersey is an interesting mix in their front office.
You have Brodeur who listed Markstrom in his top 4 goalies in the league.
You now have Keefe that has lived with a goaltending carousel in Toronto and likely wants to be more solidified than Jake Allen.
You have Fitzgerald that seems to want to improve goaltending.
And then you have Tyler Dellow who probably wants no part of moving any assets for a goalie.
Will be interesting to see where it all lands.

Only 3 out of 4 of those names know anything about winning hockey games though. Hopefully they win the day.

I think Markstrom is as good as gone to NJ. I just don't know what it'll fetch, but sure hope 10OA is part of what's coming back. We will have to add.

Feels like an underwhelming return other than #10. But if that's with nothing retained on Markstrom, then maybe?
I know very little of Clarke other than a quick google of his stats though too.

Who has to add likely depends whether the Flames retain or not I think.
