Shriver going after the coaching thing again. Saying they’re signaling Leyla to calm down.
Fowler with the retort “is that really coaching”?

If that's coaching, then everybody is guilty of coaching.

Thankful for that. Let go of the script, Pam.

Just make coaching legal, they don't stop it anyway so just let it be.

That was a huge hold for Sabalenka there. If she loses her serve the match is over. Now she can regroup and this gets back to a fight.

Omg hilarious!!! She did it again!!!
Drop shot didn't work. Sabalenka won the point.
Leylah didn't care and dropshotted again... Won the point.

It's cause their darling Serena got a coaching warning so now this all unjust. Whataboutism.

IMO it’s not “they”. It’s Shriver. The other two dismissed it.

The sheer number of times Serena has been mentioned during this thing when she's not playing just tells you everything you need to know about American tennis coverage, especially of the WTA. Evert and Shriver should be fired into the sun.
On the men's side they might be just as bad if there was a high-end men's player (I don't recall it being this insufferable with Roddick though he obviously was always overshadowed).
FFS Leylah, don't ask for reviews.

And Coco, they talk about two teenagers in the semifinals and compare them to Coco.

Yep, you could feel that break coming after last service game and especially the first point in this one where Sabalenka gave it everything.
Missing the first serve at 15-15 in that game cost her this set. Would have been an ace up the T for 30-15 and missed by about an inch. Tells you everything you need to know about this sport and especially Leylah's game - it's such a tightrope walk.
Match isn't over by any means, but Sabalenka isn't getting broken back.

That first point, even though Leylah won it, is a terrible sign. The level from Sabalenka, who is now covering a lot of court, is way up. Have to get back to hanging in and hope the adrenaline wears off or she gets tired or... something.

I'd like to know what Leylah's first serve percentage was in that second set. I'm guessing much below the 60% of the first set. She's missing a bunch of them again here.

Leylah needs to make more first serves, she's getting away with it right now, but eventually it's going to cost her.
