The difference between #1 and #3 is minimal, all of them are basically equivalent. It really just depends on what you need more, and that's what will determine the order. FLA doesn't have a great need for centers but does need D. Buffalo needs centers but is set on D. Edmonton needs everything.

I think most rankings were Jones, McKinnon, Drouin and Barker....... (yes i know some had McKinnon No 1)...... in the end it went McKinnon, Barker, Drouin, Jones, so I'd say it was a mix between the top 4.

I think the oilers would choose Draisaitl over Reinhart. Reinhart seems to be too much like the Nuge and would be another small skilled guy. With Emmett being known for his gritty physical play I think the oilers would be thinking d choosing him over Draisaitl.
If the Sabres take Bennett (panthers take Ekblad) I like the flames chances of getting Reinhart. Of all things are equal and the Sabres take Reinhart I could see the flames ending up with Draisaitl.

If Florida drafts Bennett, we need to trade Buffalo. I don't want Edmonton getting their hands on Ekblad. Florida drafting Bennett, Buffalo drafting Reinhart and the Oilers drafting Ekblad would be nightmare for the Flames.

No it wouldn't. It would be a nightmare for Ekblad, but not the Flames. Edmonton will just ruin him anyways.

Poor Dal Colle/Isles? I know we considered to draft him, but I think we'd be better of drafting a center (or Ekblad). I think a JT/Dal Colle duo could happen in a few years.

The last thing we should be doing is spending assets to move up in a pretty equal top four to affect anything Edmonton does.

I don't know if it's a given that if the top 3 go and Draisaitl is left at #4 that the Flames automatically take him as Dal Colle IMO is still a possibility.

It's not a given that the Flames will take Draisaitl if he is the last one available from the 'Top 4' - if management likes Dal Colle more than Draisaitl and feel he is the best player available, they will take him regardless of position.

with murmurs (read the debate in a thread on hfboards, but i feel somewhere else also) that the panthers should draft one of the forwards with their pick, chance that ekblad drops to calgary?
Think we can assume the sabres are happy with their d prospect pool, so the real question is whether the oilers go after a forward yet again or finally decide to invest in a defensive player. issue is their center depth sucks too...

If Ekblad makes it to #3 the greasers take him 100%. MacT has even said that he is the player they need. Hope they don't get him.
