The thing is, it's also his fans yelling out when the players are ready to serve. I hear a lot of "rafa" at the end of the cheering, which just allows him to wait longer or put his hands up on Medvedev's serve. They're facilitating his cheating. Up to the chair to do something about that, but no chair umpire really wants to get that involved in a GS final.

Yeah Medvedev did well, too bad about the ending. Strangely the time to up the villainy was there and he didn’t do it. Umpire is a disgrace letting Nadal dictate, crowd would be fully behind Medvedev going after the ump.

Shame. Was getting to be a really good match there for a while.

Nadal is a gamer though. Great point in the 5 - 2 game.

Yeah, which is why I have no sympathy for Nadal getting those time violations on break points.

Fantastic return game from Nadal to almost take it there. Another gutsy tight service game from Medvedev but just looks too tired to quite pull it out against an all time great in wars like this one. The wild forehand on game point followed by the ace was pretty nuts, though.

Uh why? He's like 80% going to hold. I could see if it was Medvedev serving for the match or if it was 30-40, but this isn't that tense a spot. Even if he doesnt hold he probably still wins.

Hope Daniil continues to make him earn it!

EDIT: holy ####, that should have been 0-30... Nadal pretty lucky there.

Nadal desperately needs to hit a first serve.

Hell of a match, that drop shot before the final point had a razor thin margin.

I'm shaking right now, this major means more than the others. I used to hate that Djokovic and Federer took so many majors from Nadal, but after all the defeats it just makes the wins so much ####ing sweeter.

Lol no he isn't. He might win 2.

Anyway, I don't know why you'd say this one means more when he really wasn't challenged much until the last 2 and a half hours of the tournament. He's had much tougher and more impressive major wins among the 19. Until today he never played anyone seeded higher than 20th and he had a walkover. Frankly this one barely counts as a major win.
