I'm buzzing like crazy right now. It's going to be so much fun.
Canada will need to bring their A game for each match to have a chance. Croatia & Belgium have obviously disappointed the past 4 years, but remember in 2018 they were 2nd and 3rd place. There is just so much experience there on both teams.
Morocco are NOT pushovers at all. Tons of Euro based players.
I'm super pumped. A little bummed it's going to be a winter WC, but hopefully that subsides when the first ball is kicked.

Given our draw and the fact we get the Belgium game out of the way first, I am quite relieved and excited. Canada will have a fighting chance to get out of their group if they play their best game and that is all you can ask for.

Canada should try to schedule a match against Italy.

Yup, and other similar opponents like Sweden and Algeria.

upon further reflection I can conclude that worrying about the teams you have drawn in the World Cup >>>>>>>>>>>>>> not have a world cup draw to worry about

Well, we got the lowest-ranked team in Pot 2, so that's theoretically a good thing. But Belgium and Croatia have elite attacking midfielders, and we don't exactly have a great holding midfield. I wonder if we can convert a defender into a shadow for Modric/de Bruyne. Either that or just win the game at the other end.

This is no small thing. Think about how many teams are going into the tournament with huge weights of expectations on their shoulders. Canada can go in and play relatively loose.

This will be one of our great selection issues. We want to play two forwards, but we will get over run in midfield with only two there, especially if one of them is 39 years old.

Interesting that Herdman spent time in Croatia trying to learn from them. What a smart individual.

I also wonder if instead of taking away the quarterback, you can take away the receivers.

edit: Totally mixed up on the draw and where this is happening! I am very excited we got Croatia. I hope we can figure out a way for us both to get thru the group.

An Italy-Canada Friendly in Toronto makes a lot of sense.
Especially with Insigne signing with Toronto FC.

Would require knocking Belgium out. Extremely difficult.

So way ahead of ourselves here but saying the worst part about the draw is likely opponents in round of 16 are Spain or Germany.
Here's to have to actually be concerned about this, later.

Last time we were there we did not score a goal, this time I would think our expectations are higher and winning a game is realistic . Shows how far our program has come.

Belgium, yea that's a hard park. Nobody crosses half, unless it's a rich counter.
Croatia, doesn't scare me anymore. Modric is getting old, throw a man mark on him. Our strikers will dust their rear end.
Knick a point off of one of the first two, and beat the Moroccan's. And hope we have a strong enough GD, to squeeze through.
