Rubio looks ready to cry upon news he's still way down in the florida polls, says "this race isn't about Trump" yet every second word out of his mouth is about Trump.

What a stiff.

Personally, I think that Gary Johnson would be the party's best candidate.

Trump's campaign is starting to remind me of some religious uprising with Trump as this charismatic leader where no matter what lies he spouts are ignored by his followers.

Exactly.

If Ted gets the nomination, and I'm running against him, I just play this over and over and over on every ad buy I can get.

A third party in the U.S. is about as useful as teats on a bull unless it grows out of either the senate or congress (or both), neither Trump or Sanders have any chance of doing a damn thing if they actually became president.

I don't understand why people, even Americans, seem to not understand how utterly pointless the Sanders campaign, any independent candidate is on every level, assuming he could beat Clinton, which is pretty unlikely, he'd be perfect bait for an uneducated electorate that equates socialism to devil worship, and even if, by some bizarre miracle, he could beat the GOP then he'd have 4 years of being told to go pound salt by both GOP and democratic congress and senate. He would be the most utterly futile president the U.S. has ever had.

Yep. Trump is already referring to him as "our communist friend". That's all anyone needs to do. Then Bernie's running his whole campaign on the defensive. "I swear I'm not a communist! I'm kind of a socialist, I guess, but not really, but here's what I mean by that..."

Disaster waiting to happen.

On the other hand Carl Bernstein says Trump is a neo-fascist.

Quote:
He told CNN’s Brian Stelter that Trump is “a new kind of fascist in our culture” with an “authoritarian demagogic point of view.” And just to give you some idea of how far he was taking this, Bernstein said George Wallace was “merely a racist” when Trump’s appeal “goes to authoritarianism, this goes to despotism.”

This is getting beyond entertaining.

Well that's why I said party, not candidate. I guess it would make for some interesting Senate issues when they need a majority and it then becomes a 3 way split. Might be paralyzing.

Yeah but that has no effect on his support. It might get him more support, if anything. Calling Bernie a communist does impact his support - for the same reason that if Bernie "shot someone on 5th avenue", his campaign would be over, or as Rubio said...

Quote:
The Florida senator told conservative radio host Mike Gallagher that if Corey Lewandowski really did grab Michelle Fields, the Breitbart reporter who resigned on Sunday, “it’s one more example of what’s happening here at these events.”
“If my campaign manager had done that, my campaign would be over. He would have had to resign, and my campaign may be over. I would have had to quit that very day," Rubio said.
These things aren't equivalent.

The US already has a third party though, it's called the Tea Party.

It was organized around congressional campaign's, it's taken over a fair number of states.

Completely in control of the GOP at a philosophical level, in control of congress and the GOP senate.

You know, maybe someone will assassinate Trump.
