At least those "overrated" Spurs beat the reigning European champions this week, instead of losing to some obscure Ukrainians.
You mean Bale beat inter, its not my fault Inters coaching staff can't counter his speed. As per Arsenal they lost to a team that hasn't lost in a few years at home, inlcuding past Champions League performances.
Based on your 15 points in EPL, that inter win at home is a moot point at the moment.

don't be jealous cause Spurs beat the reigning champions of Europe at home and the best team Arsenal has beat in the last few years of the CL is Porto

I'm not sure I'd be bigging up Spurs' Champions League pedigree seeing how they have played what, 6 games in their only appearance in the competition to date?
Just be happy that you are playing football in Europe instead of enjoying those deep runs in the Coca-Cola Cup.

all I heard from Arsenal fans was that Spurs had never been in the competition and weren't going to even make the group stages, and then they were going to finish 3rd or 4th in the group stages, and now that they have beaten the reigning champions suddenly they don't deserve praise because its their first time in the competition?

Sure they deserve praise...right now maybe...but being Spurs I'm sure the fans will be like that annoying great uncle who caught the town's biggest fish and reminds the whole damn family at every get-together they ONCE defeated the odds to win ONE battle (in both cases with a fish no less haha).
A local team, one where I personally know some of the players and non-playing staff and choose to support because I have a real, tangible link to the club and community.

It was a good win, of course, and be proud of that win. But talking about who your chief rival has or has not beaten over the past few years in the competition rings awfully hollow.
It reminds me of Oiler fans poking fun at Calgary losing in the first round of the playoffs each year, while not making the playoffs themselves at all.
I'd think that most club supporters would trade Spurs' Champions League pedigree for Arsenal's. Maybe I'm wrong.

Personally, I think they are skilled enough to get a few results when they field their best squad. However, like I said earlier, they'll eventually run into trouble when the fighting on two fronts begins to take its toll. That being said, I still think they are overrated. Oddly enough, not by Spurs fans I talk to though. The overbearing cheerleaders are the media who, as per usual, are sensationalizing and over-hyping things. Except for Bale that is, but they'll soon start over trumping him too.
A good portion of the whinging done by Arsenal supporters is due to this. They see their club get ripped by the media yet their biggest rivals do things they have been doing consistently for years but their rivals are being touted as the next big thing. The other reason why they/we whinge is because we're projecting our inadequacies.
