Hey frink, I thought they still had to put up the bridge girders @ Sarcee/17th for the LRT flyover? No?
Also, don't look forward to the Utility/Track work @ Bow/26th during March/April. That intersection is already the worst, restricting it any further may be fatal (to my rage)

Anybody know how bad Bow Trail or 17th Avenue Westbound is between 8-9am. I have to travel to 47th Street for work on Wednesday and I'm not looking forward to it.

The amount of potholes eastbound on Bow Trail has caused me to become an alcoholic.

Westbound 17th is pretty dead in the morning. I'd imagine Bow trail is similarly dead.

I think it is impossible for me to take the trip down bow without swearing once. Ive never seen such poor quality roads around construction. Massive pot holes, 3 inch elevation changes ughhh. So damn frustrating considering I have to drive it numerous times a day.
and to put the cherry on top the flames just went down 3 :@

17th in the Signal Hill/Glendale area is horrendously bad. Potholes everywhere.

33rd Street and Bow Trail. Tunnel is backfilled, and paved over. Looks like the reopening of 33rd Street isn't far off.

It'll be open this weekend according to the WestLRT website. Opening the temporary pedestrian bridge at 35th St over the tunnel excavation was long overdue, especially if you are a Manning student.

There's a new newsletter on the West LRT website. It mainly goes over what the major construction milestones will be for the rest of 2011, some of which will require more road closures, mostly at the at-grade crossings. The construction delays will mostly be finished by the end of the year though, with the remainder of the project construction taking place within the right of way, at stations, and then testing and commissioning.
Here's a map from the newsletter which shows the major work that will be occurring.

Here's some pictures I took yesterday at 69th Street Station.
Looking east from under the 69th Street bridge
Looking west from the same spot
Underside of the bridge - columns
This is the south side of the west station head. There is another row of rebar on the north side. You can see the end of it on the right side of the photo
Another one looking east, with the 69th Street bridge above
