Instead, Nixon got selfish and tried to score the goal himself on a low-percentage wraparound. He bounces the puck off the side of the net, right onto the stick of a Lethbridge player, down the ice and in our net.

One stupid decision turned a 4-1 game into a 3-2 game. Turned an easy third period into a desperate attempt to maintain a one goal lead, and a 1-1 series into an 0-2 hole going on the road.

Very, very disappointing.
Ya I remember seeing that, I thought the guy was a complete moron for not passing it out, it would have been a total gimmie goal. Oh well, luckily he didn't.

It took double overtime, but Spokane drew first blood tonight with a 1-0 win in Kennewick.

Spoke takes a 2-1 series lead over the Ams with a 2-0 victory tonight.

In three games in the series, there have been 4 goals scored.

Well, both Calgary teams failed to show up.

Hurricanes win 6-0.

Going to game 4 tomorrow....should be a good one.

I always thought that the Hitmen were in tough with their goaltending. It's just not good enough. Should have traded for Reimer when he was on the block. (I guess it was unlikely the Rebels and Hitmen would have made a trade though!)

I like that Canes team. Best team to visit the Centrium this season.

West Final is tied 2-2 now as well, Tri-City pulls out a 3-2 OT win in Spokane.

Also (WK you probably know this already), Oscar Moller signed a three-year entry-level deal with Los Angeles today.

Well, it's pretty obvious the Hitmen were defeated before this series even started. They just don't feel they can beat Lethbridge, and are going out and proving it. Just can't match what the Hurricanes are bringing.

dumb question. when did Lethbridge stop being the Broncos and start being the Hurricanes?

Also, how many tropical cyclones from the atlantic ocean hit Lethbridge

Gotta love wikipedia.

A few comments/questions in regards to the Hitmen form last night:

It seems to be Kisio's plan is to play Alzner the first 5 minutes of each period, the last 5 minutes of each period and about 10 minutes in between.

I give Ryan White a 10/10 for effort and about a 3/10 for effectiveness. The guy seemed to be going 100 miles an hour every shift but wasn't that effective because he often overplayed the man or just was out of position.

Galiardi had impressed me in every other game I saw him. Last night he looked selfish and like he was trying to do too much on his own not with his linemates.

Did Bortis play last night? I certainly didn't notice him out there.

After the second, and especially the third goal, the Hitmen looked done. I am not sure what to expect tonight but honestly looking at the body language they looked finished for the season not just the game.

They are a very good team so I don't expect them to rollover but I do expect the Canes to come out strong tonight and make the Hitmen earn the victory.

Also, Savage is a terrible referee. Bad calls on both sides. Missed calls all game. The thing that drives me nuts about him more than anyone else is his inconsistency. He calls one thing then 5 minutes later ignores the exact same play. I am also convinced that he makes the other ref crappy as well as the other guy figures he must be missing something if Savage is constantly making calls out of nowhere.

Savage is the worst referee in the Dub, by far. I hate Thiessen and Herman, but both have redeeming qualities. I almost wish the league could pull the wool over the AHL's eyes and convince them he is a decent ref so we can see someone else calling these games.

^^ Don't forget Kirk.

Also, Pat Smith's girlfriend sat behind us one night when he was reffing (Giants/Tigers I think), most annoying chick EVER.

Not looking line that missed glove pass that led to a goal will affect things.
