This was the first thing I thought of, as that was a great QB performance regardless of the circumstances. Best wishes to him and his family during this time, hope he has the game of his life tonight.

On one hand, I want Dallas to finish it because I think they have the best chance against the Oil. On the other hand, the story for Scheifele makes it hard to cheer against.

The Favre game was something. He was heaving passes into triple coverage for touchdowns.

Brady did that with Moss all the time.

Was his dad sick or was it sudden? Not sure why it matters to me but it does. Sudden just seems worse trauma wise.

Medicine Hat Tigers goalie, Harrison Meneghin, played a couple days after his dad died. Apparently his dad died at a game, my assumption is watching Harrison's last regular season game as an overager. Game 1 in the playoffs and Meneghin put up a shutout and just last night was named playoff MVP when Medicine Hat won the WHL championship.

Can Scheifele and his teammates draw the same motivation to win tonight? Great stories in sports often come from death of a loved one.

I was Dallas ending the series tonight, and I'm still skeptical but...

I am sure his father would never have wanted to be the reason he doesn't play for any reason. Still, it must be extremely hard for him especially considering how unexpected it was by the sounds of it.

This is terrible to hear, RIP Mr. Scheifele Sr.

Hockey game is another thing, Go Stars.
They are the better hope to knock out the Grease Pigs.

I can’t stand Schiefele but some things are bigger than hockey. Can’t imagine his mindset now. Awful, awful stuff.
I had stars winning tonight, but could the jets playing for Schiefele and his family be a rallying point for the jets tonight?

Is the shot clock wrong? How does each team only have 2 shots?
