Well Yordan Alvarez has had an ice-cold start so that doesn't bode well for the Jays. Their rotation has a few injuries as the moment so the Jays could capitalize on some weaker starting pitching. But it's still the Astros and they're still very good.

About time they found a way to offer up reasonably priced food and drink!

In an exciting development for Toronto Blue Jays fans and stadium-goers alike, the Rogers Centre has unveiled a game-changing shift in its food and drink pricing strategy.
Bucking the trend of skyrocketing concession costs, the iconic sports venue has committed to offering a wide array of menu items, all priced under $10.
This bold move comes as a welcome relief for sports fans who have long been accustomed to shelling out exorbitant sums for stadium snacks and beverages.
|
Quote:
Highlights of the new pricing include:
Cheese pizza slice, $4#(previously $12)
Nachos with cheese, $6#(previously $15)
Domestic beer, $7 (previously $16)
Basic cocktail, $7#(previously $16)
Potato Roti, $9#(previously $18)
Two foot long hot dog, $10 (previously $30)

Probably could have left the below part out though or maybe rephrased it to sound better lol.

Edwards added, "we're able to do this because we've found a way to offer food and drinks#that use#the lowest quality of ingredients possible and paying ballpark#staff minimum wage, thus bringing down our costs."

EDIT - This better not be April Fool's... damn it...

I assume the Jays and Rogers weren't part of that - and if that's the case I would certainly be going after that site.

They'll always have loonie dog night I guess...
I just bought tickets for the wife and I for our yearly trip to Toronto. 5 games for 2 people. Decent seats and I'm already in for a grand. Will be at least $100 a game for beers and dogs. So $1500 bucks for us. Not complaining because we could always cut a few corners to make it a little more reasonable. But holy moly that place is a license to print money right now.

Wait, you posted all that thinking it might be real?! I have so many questions for you. The reference to the "Skydome", the boasting of finding food products that use the lowest quality ingredients and exploit minimum wage workers, the second reference of low quality, unhealthy foods at the end. The editors note that literally says this is an April Fools joke

"In an era of rising costs at the grocery store and on your phone bill," remarked Rogers' spokesperson Chloe Edwards in a press release,"we're thrilled to be able to stop charging obscene prices at the SkyDome."
Edwards added, "we're able to do this because we've found a way to offer food and drinks that use the lowest quality of ingredients possible and paying ballpark staff minimum wage, thus bringing down our costs."
For Blue Jays enthusiasts and visitors to the Rogers Centre, the prospect of being able to purchase low quality and unhealthy food and drinks at wallet-friendly prices

This is an April Fools' post. Sadly, beer and other food items are going to be just as expensive as usual this year.

Food that's more reasonably priced. You just have to make sure it's wrapped properly.
I may end up doing that for a game or two when I go to San Francisco in July to watch them. I'm probably going to atleast treat myself Crazy Crab Sandwich though.

lol...there may be rules against tupperware, but last year I brought in McDonalds, for example. Just had to be in a bag or something along those lines.

I do think the Jays still pull it off. Astros aren't doing well, and once Francis settles down he'll be fine. He was simply throwing too many in there (though that last HR was tagged outside the zone). I'm sure the scouting reports are minimal on him too. Probably just the jitters.

Kirk's trimmed down slightly but not enough. And he's continued the mediocrity from last season.
