Laviolette might be a hard ass, but I don’t think he would mismanage Huby like Sutter has, try to play him with Kadri half the year, put out the 4th line in the final 2 minutes of close games, shun rookies, mishandle young players, force top prospects out of the organization, put Ritchie in for a SO with the season potentially on the line, openly disrespect players in media scrums, play Lucic on the top-2 lines when scoring becomes a problem, or play Huby on his off-wing when he’s clearly uncomfortable.

The 16th ranked team had .898 SV% compared to .890 for Calgary. There's your 14 goals and 3 points easily. Need to keep Lindholm and Backlund to keep repeating the great PK.

Really what GM would want to stick around an organization where the coach can openly to the media mock the team he built with no consequence since he's the owners boy?

You won't, and it wouldn't matter. They didn't make the playoffs this year, they weren't the biggest issue, but the aren't the answer to this teams issues either.

You would have to hope that the return would end up being for an equal center, but of course, why the heck would any team want to make a lateral move unless there was some kind of pressure to do it.

It might be a big opportunity for the kids next year.

Huberdeau and Markstrom taking fully responsibility and not speaking in cliches only is good.

Move on from the players who can't handle this situation, there are enough players on this team that can, want to be here, and have something to prove. Guys like Toffolli and Zadorov as well have benefitted this year.

Team effort was there and this team deserved a better fate, but
we are in the playoffs next year no matter what.
