It’s wild to see a lefty with a 97 mph fastball only use it sparingly. However, so far, so good.

I'm a fan of KK so far. Pretty awesome #9 hitter to have.

I've always been a fan. Hated him in Tampa, purely out of respect

Also, Kiermaier would have beaten that out at first because he would have hustled (unlike Springer)

I'm a fan of this version of Kikuchi. Looks way more confident.

Pitch count is 80 and 45 at this point - pretty solid outing so far
45 pitches through 4 is pretty impressive

Kikuchi is pitching to contact so far. It’s beautiful to see. He isn’t trying to miss bats and it is working. Hope to see more of it.

Sportsnet all about the vanity metrics this broadcast. Kikuchi's spring training numbers over and over again, Varsho's exit velocity and his throw velocity, Springers bat speed, etc. etc. Trying to blow some smoke up all our butts. You watch the game and while this game they've looked okay, the previous games they haven't been seeing things all that well.

I guess Kikuchi is the team's ace now. Fantastic outing. Just what the doctor ordered.

Kikuchi doesn’t need to try to throw it by guys…he just needs to trust his stuff. A great outing.

Varsho needed that. So far been a little slow on the bat. Hopefully this kicks things off.
