Huge upset brewing. That VAR call is going to haunt Argentina.

As a neutral, the best games are the ones where the better team has to attack urgently. Should be a fun 30 minutes.

Wow, some of the head injuries already in this tournament have been brutal.

I only watch the World Cup when it comes to football but that game was INSANE! It had everything.

You can score with your shoulder but not arms.

I just caught up. What an effort that was but Argentina looked really slow.

Imagine spending 130 billion to flex on the Saudis, losing your opening match and then watching them beat Argentina the next day.

Oof.

Catching up now but best part is it’s not like Saudi Arabia sat back and then snuck a 1-0 at the death.

Score line throughout forced both teams to play.

The high Saudi Line seems to have caught Argentina offside 3 times on goals…but you’re telling me Messi and Martinez couldn’t time that up right with the pace they have.

Ballsy strategy for Saudi Arabia for sure

Number 24 for Tunisia is a Kadri doppelganger.

Would be inclined to go conspiracy theory with the amount of injury time, but not after the england game

The Argentina loss should be a lesson for Canada. You can catch the very biggest of teams off balance with aggressive tactics and a motivated squad.

I sure hope Herdman isn’t of the same mind as many of my friends (and some pundits) who are already banking a win vs Morocco and already conceding a loss to Belgium. Argentina is in better form than Belgium, and Saudi is a weaker team than Canada.

I’d love to see Canada go all out vs Belgium.

I should have woken up to see the game. Had set an alarm and everything. Argentina still probably finds a way through the group stage but what an upset. It won’t be easy for them though now

It goes both ways. Belgium (and all other group favorites) will watch that now and think to themselves not to take any opponent lightly. If they lacked motivation to show up vs. Canada, this will correct for that.

Yes but now Canada knows that Belgium knows. So since we know they know, we stop pretending no one knows

Athletic had an article yesterday about how Messi sold his soul to Saudi Arabia

To the point that he's 'unofficially' trying to help them get the 2030 world cup instead of Argentina, as he is a brand ambassador for Saudi travel, which right now is all built around Saudi 2030

Ronaldo turned them down, Messi said yes

Saudi Arabia potentially knocking him out of a world cup is incredible
