That bunt with one out may have been an even worse decision.

Astros tie it up. Good. And a runner on 3rd.

I'm late to the party, but why is this game so late? Rain delay?

Astros bullpen.

I do get the feeling that neither the Mariners nor Yankees were swinging the bats very well so maybe Phillies will have more success. Tall order though.

I find it so strange that any sport would give the trophy to the owner before the players. Seems so weird, and wrong.

Harper has gone full god mode in these playoffs. Phils have to be the favorite if he keeps up this level of play.

I hate to root for the Astros, but with Philly baseball teams having won the series in 1929, 1980, and 2008...I really would rather not be unemployed and homeless.

Some factors I am watching going into game 1.

1) Do we get World Series JV, who hasn't always been that great?. This is obviously a chance to cement his legacy so I'm hoping we see him at his best. Two stellar starts from him would put the Astros in the drivers seat. In a tight series, three JV starts not out of the question as he would have gone on short rest in game 4 against the Mariners. The Astros lost in 2019 with 4 starts from Verlander and Cole, when those two were unstoppable all year long, so who knows.

2) The Phillies not great on defense, but this hasn't come up yet in the playoffs. It's the kind of thing that gets magnified though in the biggest moments.

3) Harper has been unstoppable but Astros pitching depth and strategy is their strength. They will have a plan for Harper.

4) Cold weather in Philly might hurt Astro pitchers more as they spin the ball more than most.

Really should be a great Series. I have tickets to games 6 and 7 but guess I'm hoping it doesn't come to that.

Well we got World Series Verlander. Shocking after the first 3 innings.

I truly think Houston should win this in 5 at most, but we'll see.

Geez, from a 5 to nothing lead and now Harper up with a chance to nearly put the game away.

Yet another team whose pitching staff suddenly forgets how to locate a pitch as soon as they face the Phillies.

The Phils will lift the trophy a week from now, but it has less to do with things they've done right, as it does with the poo pitching they've been consistently up against.
